3. The Truth Is Out

Scar PoV

It wasn't what I expected when I walked through the door. Instead of people telling Shelby to come heal Cub, it was half the server with swords and axes in their hands. They were waiting for me. I got so caught up in saving Cub, I forgot about Grian. I start panicking.

'Shelby,' Xisuma started to say. 'Get away from Scar. He's dangerous.'

Dangerous

I've never been called that before. There was some edge to Xisuma's voice, so he wasn't joking.

'Shelby, Scar is a Dearestic vex, so please, for you safet-'

'No' Was all Shelby responded with. 

'I beg your pardon?' Xisuma asked. 'Shelby, do you know wha-'

'Of course I do! It's not his fault he was born a vex!' Shelby yelled at him. No one has ever yelled at Xisuma before. I start shaking. Shelby can't die because of me-

'Scar.' Shelby said. 'Let's get Cub and go to another world. That way, we can heal him, properly.' But before we could do anything, Grain tried to tackle me. 

'Who knows what you're trying to do with him!' Grain spat at my face. I can't hurt him. If they wanted to hurt or kill me, then they can, but I won't hurt any of them.

'Grian-' I started to say, but his fist hit me straight in my nose so hard it could have started bleeding. I felt tears go down my cheeks. 'Grain' I said again. 'Do whatever you want to me, but I can't hurt you. I can't hurt any of you, even if I wanted to. So go on, hit me, but I won't fight you.' Then, I dropped to my knees, showing no sign of fighting back, which made Grian drop back.

'Scar!? What are you saying!?' Shelby said, panicked. 'Do you even know what you're saying!?'

I look up at her. 'I do Shelby, but I won't hurt them. I can't hurt them. This is my family, and if dying is the only way they feel safe, then I'll die.' Shelby's sun-gold eyes look heartbroken, and stated swelling with tears. She kneels down to me and whispered in my ear. 'You may not be able to fight, but I am. You may not be able to hurt them, but you can hide from them.' I nod. Slowly, I close my eyes, and open them, feeling them magic rush through me as I turn into my vex form. Then, I go through the floor, go under the base, then go up into the room Cub's in. 

'I'm sorry' I whisper, though he can't hear me. I chant a spell, then Cub's unconscious body glows. It glows brighter and brighter, until I almost can't look. Then, I hold my necklace up, and Cub's glowering souls goes in it. Romsei, it's called. A typical vex tradition thats normally used on kids that were turned.'It won't be long, I promise.' Suddenly, Etho comes through the door, but instead of killing me, he hands me a small bag.

 'Go,' He tells me. 'Don't come back until the bracelet turns green. I have a piece of paper that explains everything, now go!' Then he shoves me through the wall. Then, someone else goes through the door.

'Is he here?' I heard someone, False probably, asked.

'No' Etho said. 'He went through the wall before I could get him.'

'Thats ok. I can just catch up with him.' False said. 'Which way did he go?'

'That way' Etho said, pointing to the wall of the opposite direction he shoved me. That's when I realized he shoved me towards the direction of the Rift.

'Come on!' Someone said beside me, but it wasn't Shelby. Suddenly, two girls on a broom came out of no where. Gem and Shelby were on Shelby's broom. 

'To the rift!' Shelby said. 'My things from season 2 should still be at my base!

When we walked into Shelbys s2 home, it looked the same as last time. The fog was mostly gone, but something seems wrong. 

'Shelby? Is the fog always this thin?' I ask. 

'Yeah' She said. 'But it seems to be getting a little thicker again. I wonder why... '

'Wait, where's Cub?' Gem asked. 

'Do you have a bed or something?' I asked Shelby.

'Right this way' She said, bringing me up the stairs. 'Here' she said, pointing towards a purple bed. I walk over to it. I crack my necklace, and Cub''s soul comes out, turning into Cub's body, which flops onto the bed. 

'Ok, Gem, turn off the lights, and get my The Book of Spells and Potions: All You Need To Know About Inhuman Bites and How To Cure Them book. Scar, shoo.' So I did. I walked down the stairs, and take this time to open the bag Etho gave me. But, before I do, I turn human, being glad to somewhat feel my legs again. I grabbed the bag, and put my hand inside. I pulled the first thing out, which happened to be the note Etho told me about.

Dear Scar,

I don't have much time to write, but Grian told everyone you're a vex. I don't know much about vexes, but killing you for it seems wrong, so I'm gonna help you, as well as Beef and Impulse. The bracelet in the bag is probably red right now, but when it turns green, that means it's safe to come back, so just keep it on you. And, don't worry, me and Beef made sure X wouldn't ban you. So onto business! Everyone's probably going to be going in all of the worlds checking for you, so make sure your at a place you can safely hide from. Since I believe Gem is with you, she'll be able to cover for you if someone shows up to where you're hiding. I also put in some tool's incase your leg braces get jammed or something. Other things I put in include food, potions, extra clothes, band a flint 'n steel. I hope you'll survive. Keep checking the letter every day though, because I'll keep adding updates. Chow now!
