Chapter Four: Secrets Out

I woke up one day feeling weird like something was off. I didn't know what was going on until I was cutting open a can of food and cut myself on the knife. Then I knew and so did the rest of The Hunters. I had the Disease. None said anything until Karl spoke up

"Come on let me help you" He told me about cuts and how to fix them. When we got back Sapnap told me how I would share the easiest jobs with Karl ( jobs like hunting food and making camp) then we talked about how things were going to be now. That night when I went to see Dream I told him that I had the Disease. He taught me how to avoid injuries and stay safe. About a week later we followed Dream to the Nether.

This was the first time I had to act like I was Hunting him down like the rest of The Hunters. We had not had a run in with him since the first time we saw him. Anyway we were running on a bridge that Dream made as Karl tried to shoot Dream off. I didn't want to hurt Dream so I lied and saw I left my bow at camp. Karl almost shot Dream off before Dream turned around and shot Karl in the stomach.

Karl fell into the lava below us. Sapnap stopped and screamed his name. Dream didn't notice and ran away. The rest of The Hunters including me were silent as Sapnap cried. Then we went back to the Overworld. Sapnap hid in his tent until dinner went he came out and walked right over to me and asked if I was ok.

"Yeah why?" I asked

"I just lost my boyfriend, I don't want to lose my best friend too." He said. We made a gravestone for Karl and Sapnap stayed all night out there. I remembered that if Dream won then Karl would came back. I was going to tell Sapnap to reassure him but I realized that if I told Sapnap that I was seeing and dating Dream he would think I betrayed him and he was going through enough heartbreak already. So I ended up not telling him. Sapnap vowed he would kill dream or die trying.

I used Karl's death as an excuse not to wanna fight Dream. So I stayed in camp while the others tried to find Dream and avenge Karl. When I met up with Dream about a week later I told him how Sapnap wanted to avenge Karl. At first he was confused then I realized that I never told Dream about Karl having the Disease. So I filled him in, he said how he never would have shot Karl if he had known that and I realized that Karl's death was my fault.

About a week later I made my usual visit to see Dream. But I didn't know that Sapnap followed me that night. As I talked to Dream, we made our normal conversations and kissed. However, I was completely unaware that Sapnap was watching us the entire time. It was only later that I found out he had witnessed everything me and Dream had done.

Then he went back to camp and told everybody what he saw, in the morning he confronted me and told me to get Dream here now. When I said I couldn't. We waited until night then I went to our normal meet up spot. When Dream got there, I told him that Sapnap saw us last night and that I hadn't said anything else. Sapnap said it was a temporary truce. Then he asked how long we've been seeing each other.

"Since two months into the trip" I said. Sapnap looked betrayed as I said that. Then he yelled

"So you've been lying to me for two months."

"It's not like that I-" He cut me off.

"You are dating Karl's killer and-" Then Dream cut him off.

"I didn't know that Karl had the Disease if I had known I wouldn't have shot him!"

"It doesn't matter!!" Sapnap yelled. The yelling calmed down a little bit then Bad said

"George I didn't know you were gay"

"I am not" I said, then I told them about my life before I joined them. I had never told them this before in fear that they would kick me out. When I was done explaining Sapnap yelled at me.

"Why would you tell Dream and not me!"

"Because!" I yelled back.

"You would have kicked me out!" Then everyone was silent until after a long time Sapnap looked at me and said

"Choose"

"What?" I said confused.

"Choose, your friends or Dream, Karl's killer" It was the hardest choice I ever made.

"Dream" I said. Sapnap looked like he would cry. Then he softly said

"Go" Tears ran down his face as well as mine as I walked to Dream. Dream took my hand before we left I turned to Sapnap and said

"Can I just explain-"

"No" He said cutting me off.

"Just leave" So I slowly left to grab my bag and stuff then I said goodbye and left with Dream.
