You ran through the forest if this unknown and unfamiliar place.
One moment you were trying to have fun and enjoy the wonder of nature, the next you were in some magical world with BOILING hot rain burning your skin and clothes.
Not to mention the pesky fox accompanying you as you walked.
You wished you weren't so picky and against the rain back at home. At least it didn't melt your skin off like this one. The way you found yourself in this strange predicament was also..strange.
At first you'd gone out to explore the woods of the nearby streets, just for fun since you were bored after working on your college assignments online, and you thought it'd be great if you went outside and explored the place like you used to do as a child. When you were on your walk in the forest, you had dropped our phone trying to text your friend to come join you, and you guessed that the bright screen attracted some fox because as you were going to pick it up, said animal swooped down and snatched it, causing you to run after it. The fox had seen a house up ahead with an open door and ran through to get away from you, though, both of you two found yourselves confused after some time as you started to realize your surroundings had changed into some of a FairyTale.
And that's how you both ended up stuck in some magical world, both confused and scared.
The fox must have realized it would have been better to stick by the only thing it considered "normal" which was you and had been following you since then.
You glared at him(?) and rolled your eyes, and it looked back at you with a glare, you swore it scoffed at you at some point "Ugh, don't look at me like that. You and I know you got us here in the first place." you replied, gesturing to your phone that he still gripped in it's jaw. You sighed and scowled "I should've just let you keep the thing for fucks sake, I had an iCloud, I could've just bought a new one," you paused, that was a lie, "On second thought, I'm too broke for that." you muttered under your breath, which the fox heard and it laughed, well, in its own weird and unnerving way. Unnerving because it was an animal, and you had never heard a fox laugh, so it just sounded funky to you.
"Oh shut up." You said, leaning down and swiping your phone back from his mouth as his jaw was open slightly, earning a low growl. As you walked, you saw something up in the sky, and the fox followed your gaze.
You couldn't tell what it was at first, they seemed like weird misshapen birds, but as they got closer, they just looked like royal and formal attire wearing guards on sticks. Which would have been funny if it wasn't for the oddly weird plague doctor store masks they wore.
Or in other words, your closest guess, witches.
They seemed to have spotted you and were now coming towards you, your eyes widened, and you booked it back the opposite way, back from where you were walking from. The fox growled at the oncoming figures, but seeing you run and leave him behind, he whined and followed after you.
You two didn't get far before you both were tangles in a net. You scowled and tried to rip at the ropes, which you succeeded in, but didn't do much as the figured surrounded.
"Look-ie here, a human. Emperor Belos will be pleased to see this." one of the guards in a golden attire spoke to you, he snapped his fingers, ordering the other guards who picked you both up by the net, dragging you back.
It had been hours since then and you found you and the fox detained and in front of some guy in a mask sitting on a throne. The fox was in your arms and he had been for the entirety of the drag here, along with the monologue, you blocked out most of what the golden guard had said but he was presenting you as if this would give him a raise, which only reminded you of your job back home- which also brought the question, would you be reported missing? Who'd take care of your expenses? What exactly would happen to your house? You luckily had no pets as you couldn't afford to feed another mouth and-
You were snapped out of your thoughts as the smaller, shorter, younger sounding golden guard slapped the back of your back "Speak when referred to, answer Emperor Belos." he said, gesturing towards the Emperor on his throne.
Ah, so Belos was his name.
"Hm?" you hummed in question and looked up at him, as if asking to repeat himself.
The man sighed in frustration and looked down at you "What is your name?" he repeated for you. He gave off an intimidating aura, an evil one, but he had a soft(?) sounding voice. And it scared you, the uncertainty of what would happen if you messed up, you weren't scared of him, but rather the consequences.
"Uh, (Y/N).." you said slowly, as you were distracted by his appearance, wondering why he was..why everyone was built weird, you knew they couldn't control it, or well you'd like to assume, though you were just curious.
He seemed to pause at your name and took the time to also look you over "And..how did you get here, (Y/N)?" he asked.
"Uh..some door in the woods of some..cottage..." he mumbled.
The emperor took a moment to soak the information in and nodded, with a wave of his hand, he sent the guardsmen away.
after he left and closed the door, he got up and walked towards you, and you backed away slightly in return, the fox growling at him.
Belos paused a few feet in front of you and grabbed you by the chin "I may have some use for you." he said, ignoring the glare you held on your face with a red hue.
Oh boy..
