Deku sighed as he went about his day, answering emails and signing autographs mostly. It was weird, he hadn't had a broken arm in a long time. He was a little bit helpless without his right arm, but he was managing anyways. He smiled when his receptionist came to see him.
"Hey Akane. What's up?""You have a call from The United States. Melissa Shield."
Deku's heart skipped a beat, his right forearm burned as he stood up, nodding his head as he went to answer the phone.
"Hey Melissa! I uh.. Hi! I haven't spoken to you in over a decade! How is Toshinori?""Yeah. No. Haven't spoken since high school. Toshinori is great! He's doing really well and this is awkward. I'm going to cut to the chase. I heard you broke your arm yesterday. In your home doing.. Well, civilian activities."
"I did." Deku replied, his face burned
"That shouldn't be possible. Did you find a successor recently?"
"Why?"
"Well.. Uncle Might asked me to sort of keep an eye on you and one for all after he died and, so I have been. Congratulations on the baby, by the way! He is adorable!"
Deku nodded, smiling softly "Thank you! He's perfect. What about one for all?""Well you seem to be losing it. How exactly did you break your arm?"
"Pass."
"Alright, well, there should not be a position where Ochako is capable of breaking your arm. You're sure you didn't choose a successor?"
"I'm certain. I don't even drink I can't think about a way I could have given one for all away on accident."
"Well.."
"What?""It shouldn't be possible, but.. I guess I don't know if.. you could give it up non voluntarily."
Deku frowned, "Well. I guess I'm sure someone out there could have gotten a hair or some skin cells from me somehow but if that's all it takes to transfer one for all, surely it would have happened before now."
"That's what I was thinking." Melissa sighed
"I mean, I-I I transferred a lot of my DNA into Ochako yesterday, but it's not like I hadn't done that before."
Melissa frowned "Huh. And Ochako. Did she sustain any injuries?"
"I mean some bruising. No broken bones, she just kept asking for-" Deku shook his head"kept asking for what?"
"She kept asking me to do it harder.." Deku's voice was so soft and squeaky Melissa barely heard
"To do it harder?"
Deku nodded his head "Yeah."
Melissa sighed "I think you should bring her and Kaz here. We need to get to the bottom of this."
"I don't think that's a a good idea."
"I think it's necessary. I have three theories."
"Which are?"
"You gave One For All to Ochako, or your three month old baby, or that she's pregnant again and you gave it to the fetus."
Deku frowned, his arm burned, the night the words on his forearm had changed, it was the night Kaz was conceived. He had thought it was because his soulmate changed, but it was because he had done something that would result in this call. He had given one for all to Kaz. No. No. That was the last thing he wanted."Are you okay?"
"It's Kaz. I gave it to Kaz.""How do you know?"
"My arm. It.. My words changed the night Kaz was conceived. I thought it.." Deku wiped his eyes, "I need to go Melissa. I'm sorry I just.. I" He shook his head
"No I get it. Take as much time as you need." Melissa replied
Deku looked at his feet sadly as he hung up the phone, he should have known those wouldn't be the last words Ochako said to him. He stared at the wall for a long moment before standing up.
"Akane. I'm going home."
"Alright sir."Deku smiled weakly at her before going to his car, crying as he drove to his house." He sighed, sitting in his car outside of his house. How was he going to tell Ochako he had given their baby a quirk that would in all likelihood ruin his life. He sighed, climbing out of the car, and going in to see his wife, she frowned when he came in, waving.
"You're home early."
"Got a call from Melissa Shield."
Ochako tensed"She says that the fact I could break my arm having sex means I don't have one for all anymore.. And.. I'm pretty sure I gave it to Kaz."
"But.. Wouldn't that kill him? He's just a baby."
"I.. don't know." Deku sighed "I'm confused and scared and I just.. It lines up with the day my words changed, and me losing my power and I just.. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I ruined our son."Ochako frowned "you didn't ruin our son." she sighed, "You just gave him your quirk. Lots of dads give their sons their quirks." Deku sighed,
"I'm losing my quirk. I am going to need to retire. I-I need to call Katsuki at some point." Deku sighed, he wasn't sure if he was okay. Deku huffed, curling close to her and kissing her cheek.
"Our son might just be number one hero one day." he sighed, "I'm going to have to stay alive to see it."
"I always hoped you would be." Ochako murmured, kissing his forehead gently.Deku sighed, kissing her gently as she nuzzled him
"well I guess we can't have any more kids."
"Wouldn't be a good idea. I-if Kaz is my successor, than I need to focus on him."
Ochako nodded, "I understand." She murmured"You'll be seeing a lot more of me." He murmured, cocking his head to the side and smiling at her softly before standing up "I'm going to call Kacchan."
"Okay." Ochako smiled softly, kissing him "everything is going to be fine." she murmured
Deku nodded "I hope you're right." he huffed, standing up and going to the next room over. He heard his wife begin to cry as he left the room, his heart was heavy, why wasn't she comfortable telling him how she really felt? He sighed, thinking about dialling Katsuki's number, but he shook his head, going back to Ochako and sighing as he wrapped his arms around her kissing her gently.
"Everything is okay." he whispered"I just.. I didn't want him to.. I wanted him to be like you, but I didn't want him to have one for all."
"I didn't either." If Deku had thought there was any chance that Kaz would inherit his quirk, he wouldn't have had him. What if he got Ochako's quirk too? How much pain would he be in? Would he be okay? He needed to call Melissa, but right now he just wanted to hold Ochako."We'll figure all of this out." Deku huffed, "Kaz will be okay." he had to be
Deku sighed, "What can I do to make you feel better?"
"What can I do to make you feel better?" Ochako's tone was almost mocking Deku supposed that was fair. There was nothing that would make her feel better. He had given their son a curse. He heard his son on the baby monitor, and Ochako stood up, going to the nursery, Deku followed her, watching her lift their baby out of the crib. He sighed, smiling as his baby looked at him, his heart melted as his baby smiled back, the future symbol of peace.. Maybe this could be a good thing. It would be easier to bond with his family now that he was retiring and he would get to train his son! Everything was going to be fine. He would take him to see Melissa in America and get some help from Katsuki everything would be fine. He saw Ochako grin at their baby as she jostled him in her arms. Deku was cautiously optimistic about his future, but he wouldn't have time to do any of those things, his days were more numbered than he ever could have guessed.{sorry it's short and a little boring the actual plot will start soon I promise}
