Katsuki sighed as he set food in front of Ochako and looked at her with a frown. Ochako frowned, staring at Katsuki for a long moment, feeling like she had somehow woken up in a alternate universe or something. She looked down at her breakfast and felt tears forming in her eyes as she remembered why Katsuki was here.
"I'm not hungry."
"Well you're going to eat anyways." He had never cooked for a woman before besides his mother so she was going to fucking enjoy it.

Ochako nodded sadly, picking at the food, she checked her phone, she had hundreds of messages, she wasn't sure what to do. She had no idea where to begin. She opened her phone and huffed, scrolling through condolences, threats, and interview requests. It was kind of funny, but not funny enough it didn't make her cry. Katsuki sighed, he didn't know how to do this. He couldn't just sit and watch her cry. His arms burned, as he kept them at his side. His arms wrapped around her as he started to cry too, holding her tightly in his arms.

"I'm sorry Ochako! I am! I would have given anything for it to be me!"
Ochako sighed, curling against his shoulder as she sobbed, she felt safe in his arms. They stayed like that for a while, sobbing until their lungs and throats burned. Katsuki sighed, holding her in his arms gently. He sighed,

"Eat. I'm going to check on Kaz."

Ochako nodded sadly, looking at him as she picked at her food, Katsuki had always been a good cook, she cleaned her plate. Katsuki went to check on the baby, he was still asleep. Katsuki smiled at him softly, cocking his head to the side as he went out to the living room. He sighed, wondering if she had eaten the food or just thrown it out when he left the room. He huffed, it didn't matter.

"Kid's asleep."
"Yeah. He usually sleeps until nine." Ochako murmured

Katsuki sighed, looking at her with a nod. Ochako sighed, picking up her phone again and scrolling through it "I.. I should start responding.."
Katsuki shook his head "Don't think about what you should do. Think about yourself and Kaz."

Ochako frowned "but-"

"I will make calls. Let everyone know you're okay, but you're overwhelmed. Okay? Unless you want to make the calls, but, something tells me you don't."
"I want to call my parents." She whimpered, "But I can't stand the thought of anyone else seeing me like this."
Katsuki nodded "Do you think moving in with your parents would help?"

Ochako sighed "no. I-I want to stay here. This was our home."
"This is your home." Katsuki murmured. "but if you need support that isn't me, I get it." though he was enjoying having her around. It wasn't on her to give him purpose. To absolve him of his guilt. He sighed, looking at her sadly.

She shook her head "I want to stay here. All of Kaz's things are here. Everything he knows is here."
Katsuki nodded his head as he looked at her "Okay."
She sighed, hugging him sadly, he rubbed her back, holding her close, he wasn't sure if he had ever gotten so many hugs in day. It was nice. He shouldn't have spent all those years pushing Deku off of him. He frowned as she pulled away, she smelled so nice. He huffed, he shouldn't lean on Deku's widow, but he had just lost his best friend, and she was the only one who had any idea how he felt. He sighed, running his fingers through her hair. She blushed, sighing as she stood up and went to call her parents. She was gone for a long time, he heard Kaz wake up and sighed, going to get him. He groaned as he lifted the baby into his arms only for him to start to scream. He huffed, resisting the urge to use the words 'shut the fuck up.' but by God was it difficult he sighed as Ochako came back and took the baby into her arms. He smiled at her weakly as the baby calmed down. She handed him her phone so he could respond to her other messages. He huffed, this was going to take a while, but he would rather make the calls than take care of the baby.

Ochako huffed, holding her baby in her arms, he was so content, the only thing in her life that hadn't changed overnight. Kazuku was okay, he was the only thing in her life that was okay. Katsuki was right. She needed to focus on him. He smiled at her, he looked so much like his father it hurt. She held him in her arms, kissing his little head as she turned on the tv and sighed as she found a good kid's show for him to watch. As she held him and tried not to spiral. Katsuki came through the door after about an hour with a sigh.

"I uh.. just got off the phone with Inko."
"Yeah."
"We.. We uh.. need to-" He winced, "we need to start planning a funeral."

Ochako nodded sadly "I-I know I just-"

"I'll do most of it.. Just-I'll ask you about details sometimes." he sighed, Ochako nodded her head sadly. O-okay." She whimpered

"Do you want to go home?" Ochako murmured

He shook his head with a sigh, "I don't want to be alone right now." he admitted
"I don't either." she replied, her voice was soft, she looked scared, he wrapped his arms around her gently.

"Than we won't be." he sighed, she rested against his chest. Katsuki sighed, without Deku he was about to be real fucking lonely. He sighed, Deku had been his best friend, and he had spent so much of his life trying to keep his wife at arms length. He supposed they would be getting to know each other now. He let go of her after a long moment, looking down at her with a sigh, wiping her eyes, looking at her face for a long moment before pulling away. What now? He thought to himself. Now.. you take care of her, take care of the kid.. Like Deku would, minus a few things. He sighed, he had a mission. He could stay together as long as he had a mission. Protect Ochako and Kazuku Midoriya. Make sure she eats and sleeps, maybe even try to distract her. Even in his last moments, Deku was laying plans to take care of all three of his favorite people. He huffed,

"I'm going to start making some arrangements for the funeral." He sighed, "I'll do it here if that's okay."

She nodded, "of course that's okay."

He nodded, looking at her with a sigh, he was lucky to get to weather this with her. He looked down at the baby. He knew he couldn't just stay here forever, at some point he would need to go home to his empty house and mourn. He couldn't just keep doing this 'mission' forever. Katsuki looked at Ochako, she was crying again, his arm wrapped around her, pulling her against his side with a huff.

"I don't know how I'm going to pay for a funeral! I haven't worked in almost a year, Deku wouldn't let me.. And I also just don't know if I can keep doing hero work after Deku died doing it, but I have I have no other skills and-"
"Don't think about it right now. You don't have to worry about money right now you-"

"that kind of thinking is exactly how I ended up going to bed hungry as a kid! We won't think about it now! It'll work itself out! Things-"
"You think I'm letting Deku's family starve?" Katsuki yelled, "Jesus! Just let me fucking help!" He huffed, feeling bad as she shrunk away from him. "I-I'm sorry I just.. There's nothing you can do right now. Okay? You're in no condition to go back to work, and if you go back to work so soon after Deku's death optically-"
"I don't give a fuck about optics! I need to take care of Kaz!"
"The same way Deku is taking care of you two?"
"Fuck you." She whimpered
"Fuck you! I'm not about to plan two funerals, and I'm sure as fuck not about to become a single father! Let me take care of it. It's the least I can do."
Ochako frowned, hugging him as she started to sob. He held her in his arms, and sighed, rubbing her back. His head brushed against hers, the smell of her shampoo soothed him, he pulled away. He didn't need any fuel for his less than wholesome dreams. He rubbed her back sadly, trying not to kiss her head. He didn't want to pull away, he wanted to support her, but his arms burned. He knew he was messing up, but there was no way for him to withdraw from this mistake while respecting Deku's last wishes. God damn it. He looked down at her, gripping him so tightly, crying into his shirt. He wanted so desperately to help. His motivations were pure, and only a small fraction of his thoughts weren't Everything was okay. His mission remained the same, and he couldn't back out of this one.
