Melissa Shield knew Izuku Midoriya was dead before his wife, blinding pain shot up her arm as her words turned red instead of black. Her first thought was about Deku's son, he was only a baby, and most likely the next wielder of one for all. She knew she needed to get to him before the quirk started to manifest. She went to do it with tact, but she also didn't want to risk it manifesting when Ochako was alone, and grieving.

"I'm sorry, but.. I would really like it if we could get Kaz to the United States as soon as possible to see if he is the next yielder of one for all."

Ochako frowned "Do you think it's urgent I just-"
"I think we should figure it out as soon as possible, and I thought you might want an excuse to run somewhere where fewer people would recognize you."

Ochako nodded sadly, it would be nice to grieve somewhere where she didn't feel like she was under a microscope. She nodded, "I'll talk to Katsuki." she murmured
Melissa nodded, it was odd, but she supposed it made sense that Katsuki was helping with the one for all stuff, and it was nice Ochako had some help.

"Alright. We'll be in touch."
"Yeah." Ochako sighed, "You can come meet him if you want." She murmured
Melissa nodded "If you don't mind, yeah."

"Of course I don't mind." Ochako murmured, leading Melissa to her son with a sigh, Katsuki smiled at her weakly, handing the baby to her. Melissa looked down at him with a sad smile, he was adorable, a miniature Deku.

"His name is Kazuku?"
"Yeah." Ochako murmured "We call him Kaz."
"He's precious." Melissa murmured, "I don't think I ever congratulated you. I uh.. Meant to."
"Understandable." Ochako murmured, "But thank you."

Melissa smiled at her with a sigh, "Bakugo."
"Yeah?" Katsuki sighed

"I was just telling Ochako that I think we should start looking at Kaz.. Make sure he's Deku's successor."
Katsuki sighed, it wasn't something he wanted to deal with at that moment, but he also knew it was neccesary. "Yeah. how does next week sound?"
Melissa nodded "Sounds great. Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Kaz comes first. Deku's legacy comes first."
Ochako frowned, something about hearing it that way felt wrong. Deku had been hesitant to name their son after himself, but she had wanted to. Now, with Deku gone, and Kaz as his most likely successor, it was unlikely Kaz would have much choice as far as the route his life would take. He would have to be a pro hero, more than that, he would have to be among the greatest pro heroes of all time. She felt tears running down her face.

Katsuki frowned, moving to wipe them with a sigh. "It's okay. We'll figure it out. Do you need more than a week?"
"N-no. It's fine."
Katsuki sighed, looking at Melissa "We'll be in touch." he knew pictures of him holding Deku's widow would be all over Japan tomorrow, but he didn't care. He wrapped his arms around Ochako with a sigh, wiping her eyes.

"Do you want to go home?"
Ochako nodded her head sadly "Yes please."
Katsuki nodded "Let's go." He huffed , and with that, they said goodbye and went back to Ochako's home. Katsuki sighed , "Looks like we're going to the United States again."

Ochako nodded "Yeah." She was a little bit nervous, she had already started having weird thoughts about Katsuki, going back to the place where they had first kissed could be bad. She knew it was unlikely she would go to the US and immediately jump on him, especially since she would be taking Kaz, and talking about Deku the whole time. She huffed

Katsuki looked at her with a frown "Do you want to order out?"
Ochako shook her head "I'm not hungry."
Katsuki nodded "Okay."

"You should get something if you're hungry though."

Katsuki sighed "No. I'll cook."
She nodded "Okay."
Katsuki pulled into the drive way and grabbed Kaz out of his car seat and took him inside. Kaz smiled up at him. Katsuki smiled back at him weakly, taking him out of the car seat and holding him against his chest. He felt tears sting his eyes as he felt that mop of green hair brush against his chin. Deku's hair. He loved this baby. He loved him so much, he wasn't his baby, but he would likely be the only father he would remember, and he probably wouldn't have kids of his own. So Kaz would be the closest thing he would have to a kid of his own. But how could he reconcile that? Knowing that this baby wasn't his, and was the child of one of the most beloved men of the century, but he would only remember him? He couldn't let Kaz call him dad. But he also needed to fill that role. He would, the the very least be his mentor. He supposed Uraraka might remarry. Her husband would be Kaz's dad. Kind of. No one could replace Deku. She wasn't his girlfriend. She never would be. He wasn't sure why that made him sad, even a little bit angry. He sighed, he had never been good at identifying his feelings. He supposed it wasn't unlikely that he had developed inappropriate feelings for Ochako, even when she was Deku's wife, he had dreamed about her. He sighed, he had pretty much moved in with her. He jumped when he felt Ochako wrap her arms around him. He looked at her and sighed

"How are you cheeks?"
Ochako didn't answer, she just took Kaz out of his arms. She looked at Katsuki sadly

"I'm fine. How are you." Katsuki sighed, even after a week of straight crying, she was stunning, but she was Deku's widow. So he swallowed his feelings. It wasn't the time. It never would be.
"I'm going to make dinner. And than I think we should talk about me going back to my house."
Ochako's heart broke, but she supposed it made sense, she couldn't expect Katsuki to just.. Never go back home again. She nodded
"Why don't you go now?"

"That what you want?"
Her eyes filled with tears "Why would you make yourself dinner and go home? I told you I'm not hungry."
Katsuki frowned "I wanted to make sure you eat." he sighed "But if you want me gone, I'll go."

Ochako nodded, "I.." she sighed
"You have my number, okay? Hell, you have my address! You're welcome to use either! Okay? But I can't just move in."

"I understand." she whimpered

Katsuki sighed, hands clenching into fists as he resisted the urge to kiss her. He hugged her with a sigh "You're okay."

She hugged him back sadly, hoping he would never let go. She didn't want to be alone. She was terrified of what would happen if she sat with her feelings. Katsuki sighed

"I'm going to make you dinner." He wasn't sure if he would be strong enough to leave after dinner but he knew he wasn't strong enough to leave her at that moment. Ochako nodded sadly
"suit yourself."

Katsuki frowned "What do you want from me? I need to go home at some point."
She nodded, "I know, I'm just.. sad." She sighed

He nodded "Maybe you should go stay with your parents."
She looked at her feet sadly

Katsuki huffed he felt awful, he thought about telling her he loved her, but he knew better. So he just rolled his eyes and started to cook. He knew it was going to hurt, going home and having to think about everything that had happened, but he also knew it was something that needed to happen before he went to the US with Deku's widow. He needed to be in the right headspace. He sighed. He served her dinner with a frown.

"I'm not leaving until you eat." he sighed, he found it a little funny he didn't think he had seen her eat so quickly since Deku died. He huffed after she finished.

"Well, cheeks. I'll see you soon." he thought about going to say goodbye to Kaz, but he didn't want to make it harder than it needed to be. Kaz wouldn't remember if he said goodbye and he would see him in a week at the longest. So he went back to his house. It would be nice. He told himself, not waking up to a child crying every couple hours. Not having to share his bed, but he also knew that he was going to be lonely. He got to his house, body heavy as he dragged it into his empty house, getting to his couch where he lye face down mourned in silence. It was times like these he used to go to Deku for support, but Deku was gone. He stayed on the couch for the rest of the day and than he slept there.
