REAL LIFE

milani shut her phone off after reading ella's text towards matt.

ever since matt started his relationship with sarah, ella held this huge grudge against him for suddenly ending things with milani. she knew that milani and matt were never official, but it pissed her off to no end that he would just suddenly cut her off to be with another girl.

while ella held this grudge against him, she was able to hide it well enough so that nick and chris wouldn't know what all happened between matt and milani.

shoving her phone in her sweatshirt pocket, milani quickly sat up from her bed and made her way towards her brother's room.

"kyson," she knocked. "do you wanna go to the roof."

it was silent for a couple seconds, until she heard ruffling noises and the door eventually swung open to expose her brother. he looked like he had just woken up.

"milani, it's one in the morning," he muttered, his eyes barely open.

"pleaseee?"

kyson was too tired to argue with her, and he was already out of bed so he agreed to head up with her. he quickly put some shoes on and followed his sister out of the apartment and to the stairwell that led to the very top of the building.

while the two were walking up the steps, kyson noticed the urgency in milani's steps. almost as if she was going to die if she didn't smoke something within the next few minutes.

"milani, what's up?"

the girl didn't look back and continued making her way up the stairs, "what do you mean?"

"i don't know why you try to hide things anymore, i know when something's off," kyson pushed.

milani sighed as she opened the door at the top of the stairwell, exposing the siblings to the roof of their apartment building.

"just... thinking," she sat down near the edge of the building, pulling out a joint and immediately lighting it.

her brother took a seat right next to her, "about..."

milani handed the joint to him, looking off into the skyline, "matt."

kyson's head fell back at the mention of matt's name. he knew it was a sensitive topic for his sister, but nevertheless continued questioning her.

"have you told chris and nick yet?"

the girl started coughing up a storm at his question, shaking her head, "hell no. i don't-- i don't think ill ever be.. able to."

milani couldn't help but think of the reaction she would get from nick and chris if they ever found out about her past with matt.

"plus, he's dating someone right now and i don't wanna make it messy."

she knew the relationship was already messy, but kyson didn't need to know that. he also never knew that matt had left milani to be with sarah, just that he suddenly started pretending nothing happened. she knew it would piss her brother off and she didn't want him to lash out on matt.

"whatever you say, millie."
