Chapter 3 : Halo

" It's so bright and colorful " Mihr praised as Karma looked around " It's too bright " he tried the hiding technique Mihr taught him ' I can't see it anymore ' Mihr was plenty disappointed to not see the familiar glow that reminded him of being in the third sphere of the heavenly kingdom .

" does this mean you are going to use Merit then ? " " Nope if I can get a halo isn't that enough " Mihr felt joy to hear someone desire a halo instead of merit as money " Really ? " " Yes yes although I would like to know more "

" Then let me go to heaven and get a book on how to use halo " Karma felt like something was wrong with learning heaven's techniques " Is it okay for a mortal person ? "

" I'm sure they would let me if I tell them that you don't plan to use your merit for money but rather as a halo and your meritorious deeds are something everyone in heaven has heard of "

" Then I'll be counting on you Mihr " " Yes my protectee " ' Is that the term for the person being guarded my bodyguards usually call me boss but that must be something guardian angels have to use when they want to talk about their ... protectee '

Karma watched Mihr fly to heaven and looked at the food ' He ate it so cleanly but during this time I should check on Truth and maybe order some black curtains if I accidentally conjure the halo by accident '

Karma checks on Truth " Truth are you there ? " "Yes ?" " Are you bored " "Yeah" " Then can you help me with something ? " "Sure what is it ?" " Can you make it so that I can tell whether a person is lying or not ? "

"I can do that but what if the person doesn't know they are lying ? Like for example they were misinformed ?" " No need I'm okay knowing whether a person is lying or not you are still young so I don't plan to burden you "

"Okay then here" Karma felt some warmth " Thanks " "Aren't you going to test it to see if it works ?" " It's working perfectly actually you are telling sorts of truth so you know very well that it works so do you want anything for that ? "

... "Can I access the internet , I want to learn ?" " Sure go ahead I'll let you use my phone for now just don't go to the contacts okay or Isir might send people thinking I'm in danger again but I'll get you your own " "Okay thank you"

Karma leaves his phone and goes back to the cabin to read the book of laws Mihr gave .

' That confirms what I had thought no forced contract , no trespassing on personal property which means nobody can learn of anybody's secret so like a company secret will stay a secret even to higher societies maybe I should remove that welcome sign '

He figured there was no problem since he had nothing important in here ' As expected several of the laws in the higher society are very much similar to the laws here it's not hard to learn some things and not too easy if you don't have a lawyer's degree '

He takes a search through his new database "how to identify an artifact" " Ah cursed grimoires and artifacts " "Some original text like the devil's manual are cursed because of the devil's sins inviting retribution to any artifact the devil has touched"

' Oh but I'm sure these texts are original text after all the Count bought it at a very early age and right after their destruction ' "Solomon's ring can only be identified if the wearer commands for a demon they can sense"

Karma searches for the opposite of merit which appears as sins "This is the dark vestiges of someone who has destroyed not for the good of anyone , This abhorrent stain attracts disasters to try and cleanse any traces of it"

' That sounds dark maybe that's why I haven't been hearing any reports that someone robbed the place ' Karma continues to read more about the sin vestiges .
