Chapter 8

Matt's P.O.V

"Can you put your address into Google maps Matt?" Hunter asked, handing me his phone.

"Yeah sure." I reply, typing the address into the app and handing it back to Hunter.

"Great, I'll drop you off first, your house is closer than Gus's." He says before starting the car.

We make it into the neighborhood and I spot a few kids from Glandus. I grit my teeth before looking towards my house that we had just pulled up in front of.

"OH FUCK NO." I exclaim.

"Uh, what's wrong?" Gus asks.

"That's my parents car- I CANT go home tonight. Nuhuhuhuh." I say, shaking my head.

Gus's eyes go wide. "Oh shit, yeah uh Hunter, just drop him off at my house." he says hastily.

"Oh uh, okay I guess? What's so wrong with his parents?" Hunter asks, pulling away from my house.

"Litertaly everything." I respond, continuing to look out the window.

We make it to Gus's house. It's in a nice area of town, around a 30 minute walk from Hexside. Hunter drops us off at his house before driving away.

"Hey Dad!" Gus yells as he opens the door.

"Hey Augustus! Dinners ready!" He yells back, poking his head out from around the corner. "Oh, who's that? I've never seen him before."

"Uh, I need to talk to you quickly." He says as he walks down the hall. Motioning to me to stay there for a second. I close the door and stand I the doorway, waiting awkwardly for Gus to return.

"Come here Matt!" Gus yells from the other room. I remove my shoes at the front door and walk down the hallway to the room that Gus and his dad were in.

"Hi, Matt. My name is Perry." Gus's dad said, holding out his hand to me. I took his hand and shook it.

"Hi, nice to meet you." I reply nervously.

"Augustus told me about your situation, your free to stay here for the night if you want." He smiled down at me. I looked over at Gus, who was standing beside his dad, staring off into space.

"Thank you, Sir." I say, smiling up at him.

"Now, why don't you join us for dinner?" He asks before turning around and walking towards the dining room. He had already set up a third plate for me. Im surprised that he was being so nice to me, not very many people would do that for someone they just met.

"It was very good! Thank you!" I say, placing my fork on my plate.

"Your welcome!" Perry said before collecting everyone's plates. "Gus, lend him some of your clothes, and uh, your going to have to sleep in Gus's room, Is that alright?"

"Yeah, anything is fine, I don't really care. But thanks awayway sir." I say as I get up from the table.

"C'mon Matty!" Gus says happily, walking towards the doorway of the dining room. I follow him his room is on the second floor. He opens the door and I gasp. It is 1, massive, 2, beautiful, and 3, beautiful.

"Woah, your room is so nice!" I say. smiling at Gus.

"Awe, thanks!" He says as he walks over to his closet. "Most of my stuff will probably be a bit big on you... I think I might have some old shirts or shorts or something in here..."

"It's okay if it's a little big, I understand." I say.

"Hmm.. Okay, but here you go, these are a bit small on me, but they will probably still be big on you." He says.
