TOM'S POV
"Joules this is Jack and Chris." I smiled.
"Nice to meet you guys!" Joules smiled. "This is Abby and David."
"Nice to meet you" they waved.
We walked to some benches they has by a fountain.
"So Joules, You're all Tom ever talks about." Jack laughed and I punched him in the gut.
"O really?" Joules raised her eyebrow at me.
"Yeah. He goes on and..Ow" I punched him again.
"HAHA Funny cause we can never get a word out of Joules about you." David said.
I frowned. "It's only because we tease her. But I know she secretly is dying to tell us. Isn't that right Joules." David looked at her. I looked to her and she blushed.
"O man the sexual tension between you two is mental." Chris laughed and I gave him a death glare.
"I couldn't agree more with that statment." Abby agreed. I looked too Joules and she did just what I did and sent Abby a death glare.
Chris, Jack, David, and Abby seemed to have been getting along great. All of them poking fun at Joules and I's new found friendship and whatever else there was between us. Joules leaned over "I think introducing them was a terrible idea." she laughed.
"Yeah, not our smartest idea." I agreed.
"Alright Abby, David. That's enough let's go." Joules said dragging them away from Chris and Jack.
"Bye!!" They yelled laughing at how annoyed Joules was. She came back giving me a quick hug "Balcony don't forget." and then waved goodbye to Jack and Chris.
Once she was gone I turned around and glared at the two of them.
"She's fit." Jack laughed.
"Like...really fit." Chris added.
"Let's go you goones." I said smacking them and pushing them towards the dorms.
----
It'd been a few hours. Past curfew now actually. Joules sent me a text to meet me on the balcony. I went outside and hopped on her balcony. "Hello" I smiled.
"Hey! So tonight was interesting."
"Yeah I feel like we're going to majorly regret introducing them."
"I'm never going to hear the end of it." she chuckled.
"Trust me, me either. So are you excited for Opening Ceremonies?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I want to start cometing. I'm like chomping at the bit."
"Don't forget to stop and smell the roses."
"Yeah, I should probably learn to have more fun and not work so much."
"You gotta find that nice medium." I patted her on the back and the two of us decided to lay down and look at the sky. We stayed quit for a while before she broke the silence.
"So you ever think what would happen if our parents were still around?"
I answered honestly. "Everyday."
"Like would I hav been here if she hadn't have passed. Would I have still had the drive to get here and to keep going for her."
"I think you would have. You're a very strong person. And from what it sounds like your Mom was exactly like my Dad. He was always there no matter what."
"She was." I heard a sniffle and looked over.
"What's wrong?" I asked getting closer and putting my arm around her.
"You said i'm a strong person, but the truth is, i'm not."
"Don't say that."
"No it's true. Every second of everyday I feel like i'm about to break. I put on this tough exterior but it's like jello inside. Like I can't even stand to go home. I go home twice a year at most. I just stay in Baltimore and go to school and train. And seeing my little sister makes it even harder. She is the spitting image of my Mother and I have to take on the role of my Mom and I just feel so guilty for not wanting to go home. And I don't know why I'm crying. Or why i'm telling you this, you're probably so freaked out. I'm sorry." she weeped and hid her face in her hands.
"Shh shh. Don't say that. I know how you feel. I'm the same way. Everyday is hard but I think about what my Dad would say. And he would tell me to continue on and not let me losing him effect my dream. Like you say she's always with you. And going home is hard but it's something you need to do. I'm sure your Dad really misses you and needs you so much more than you think and especially Addy, I mean she's only 5."
She looked at me "You remember my sisters name?" she asked.
"Of course. I remember everything you tell me. Like I remember that you want to be an Athletic trainer. And that if you could live anywhere in the world you would want to live here in England. And you're favorite football team is Real Madrid and your biggest inspiration is Nelson Mandela."
"Why'd you remember all that?"
"Because I care and if i'm being honest...I like you. Like a lot." I said looking straight into her eyes.
She wiped her tears. "I like you too. Alot." she laughed.
I felt as though it was only natural that I lean in to kiss her but I was scared she'd pull away. I hesitated a little and leaned in. She took my face in her hands and crashed her lips to mine. It quickly turned from an innocent kiss to a full out make out session. I eventually pulled away.
"Well this has been enlightening." she chuckled.
"Very. But i'm glad it finally happened." I said wrapping my one arm around her shoulder tightly and she leaned into my chest.
"Me too. Being around you makes me happy and I feel like I can be myself."
"You can always be yourself around me." I reassured her.
"Tom?"
"Yeah?"
"Where does this leave us? I mean I like you, but we are here to compete so I don't think becoming something official is a good idea."
"Me either. I think we should just keep on doing what we're doing and maybe if you want we can try things out after the games are done."
"I like that idea." she sqeezed me tight and a smile spread across my face.
