A Week Before
Los Angeles, CA
"Just one more pic ok bae cause you look too damn fine not to post" Tahiri hyped him up.
"Aight Ta damn that's enough let me see if Peezy -
"Uh uh nope! You said today was about us you can call Rahmauds hating ass later. I need your undivided attention babe"
Xavier sighed at his fiancé Tahiri, she couldn't stand his best friend Rahmaud, or Peezy as everyone usually called him. In Tahiris eyes Rahmaud didn't fit Xavier's aesthetic he was still too loud, too hood, and most of all always had too much to say about their relationship.
Rahmaud let her know the feeling was mutual on more than one occasion. He felt like Xavier could do way better and thought Tahiris classy girl persona was all a front. Rahmaud knew an opportunist when he seen one and hoped the woman showed her hand before it was too late he damn near choked when his best friend proposed to her.
"I'm serious X I'm this close to uninviting him from the wedding. I know he's planning on embarrassing the hell out of us and I will..."
The man had zoned out after a while his fiancé knew good and well Peezy would not only be attending he'd also be participating in the wedding as his best man. Uninviting him was out of the question.
Tahiri, or Ta as Xavier called her, placed a strong emphasis on appearances and the opinions of others. While Xavier had been in the public eye for years, his fame skyrocketed when he won Producer of the Year. Now, he seemed to be under constant scrutiny, unable to escape the cameras whether he was in public or at home. His life with his wife-to-be had become a series of photo opportunities, with every outing or activity being posted for likes and views.
The man was exhausted but tried to maintain a positive attitude. He remembered the advice of his older family members: "happy wife, happy life." He understood how much appearances mattered to Tahiri, and wanted to support her in her desire to maintain a certain image.
The couple were currently on their way to see a fertility specialist, Ta let it be known she wanted a big family early on in the relationship because she came from one herself. Although Xavier grew up an only child he didn't mind having children when they were both ready. But after being together for years and not so much as a pregnancy scare Ta decided they should see a specialist.
"Hello Tahiri and Xavier, I'm Dr Carlisle I'll be helping you all today first tell me a little about why you're here? It's not often that we see couples as young as you two" The cheery blue eyed blonde said looking between the two.
"Well my fiancé and I are looking to start our family we've been trying for the last year or two and nothing. I've stopped my birth control, tracked my cycle, even changed my diet I'm not sorry we're not sure what the issue could be."
As Xavier finished responding to a few pressing emails, he silenced his noisy cell phone and took Tahiri's hand, holding it gently in his own. When he looked into her eyes, he noticed an emotion he never expected to see on her face—fear.
"Uh yeah we uh just wanna make sure everything's normal and maybe we're just being impatient" he awkwardly spoke not knowing how else to contribute to the conversation.
Dr. Carlisle smiled and nodded in understanding there was a soft knock at the door before a young nurse walked in "Ok it seems like you both are on the same page, lets start with some tests I've already reviewed both of your blood work which looks great by the way
But I think we should do further tests Xavier, we'll start with a semen analysis from you Jody will bring you to the correct room. Tahiri you can stay here I'd like to perform a pelvic exam and maybe a ultra sound if that's alright."
