Los Angeles, CA
October
Xavier checked his personal phone for the first time in 4 hours most of the notifications were from his fiancé, a few from his mom, but nothing from Jashae.
The two text briefly last week according to her she'd be coming to California alone. Xavier still needed to schedule her flight and an appointment with the fertility specialist but she hadn't text back to confirm dates. he just hoped she wasn't getting cold feet.
He'd hate to be the one to explain to Tahiri why they couldn't start their family knowing it'd crush her, Luckily she'd been keeping herself busy with the wedding planner so Ta hadn't had time to question him about Jashae but he knew it was coming sooner or later.
Peezy blew out a breathe before tossing another piece of scrap paper in the garbage. He'd been rewriting the same verse for the past hour
"P where's ya head at?" Xavier asked in an attempt yo take his mind off his own potential personal problems.
"These lyrics not flowing... I know call up some ho-" Xavier shook his head in disapproval P was his brother, blood couldn't make them any closer but he understood why Ta couldn't stand him at times.
P was the best friend every girlfriend, in this case fiancé feared the single, paid, and life of the party friend. There were always hoes galore when it came to him even before his music started taking off he was that nigga since a teen.
Although Peezys music was making waves and a few songs had gone viral he was still heavily active in the streets X never asked why so P never told.
"Aight you right Tahiri would bring her annoying ass down here quick as hell just to ruin the fun, last time I had to break up a fight I almost swung on a hoe fa pullin on my locs"
"Yo ass don't need no hoes distracting you anyway i ain't never seen you this discombobulated over one verse so wassup?"
To Peezy, there was no need for Xavier who'd almost always stayed on the straight and narrow to get involved in his illegal affairs if shit ever went left he wanted his best friend as far removed from the bullshit as possible.
"Nun for you to worry about just some legal shit"
Xaviers frown deepened clearly there was something he wasn't being told "I thought Raynell was handling that for you."
"Me too but they saying she don't handle cases like mine I'll handle it either way. Speaking of Ray, how's everything going with her homegirl?"
Not liking the way he'd been brushed off Xavier attempted to press the issue but P's phone went off and he excused himself. Turning his attention back towards work he toyed with a few instrumentals he created earlier trying to find the right one for an artist he'd be working with soon.
By the solemn look on P's face Xavier could tell whoever called must've had bad news. "Aye, I gotta head out but we can finish up later this week"
The men did their signature salute and P was out the door Xavier loved him like a brother but knew he couldn't baby sit another grown man he just hoped Peezys legal troubles were as minor as he said.
The phone rang less than 5 seconds before Tahiri answered "Oh, so now you got time to return my calls"
"You wanna argue or you wanna get to the point?"
