1 Month Later ...

"We just need you to give us 1 more big push mom come on you got it" Jashae flinched watching the young woman on the screen give birth. It seemed like everyone in the room were crying including a few of the nurses.

Just a month shy of her own due date she'd been obsessed with watching natural birth videos she didn't want to get medicated but the agonizing screams from each mom had her second guessing the natural approach. "I can't do this" she mumbled selecting next on the Youtube app.

"Shae! Why aren't you dressed yet? You know we're on a tight schedule" Lourdes asked bursting through her bedroom door without knocking per usual.

"I was getting dressed but then I started watching Youtube. Why can't we just have the baby shower in the backyard?"

Lourdes sighed handing Jashae the rest of her outfit unbothered by the pout on her face. "No, we already compromised by combining the gender reveal and baby shower into one. Don't make me call your rich baby daddy to get you to act right." She threatened while touching up a few of Jashaes edges. "Now chop chop prego I already told Peezy and Ray we're on the way you know they'll start calling me every 5 minutes if we don't leave soon"

"Ok, ok bossy" Jashae rolled her eyes but complied knowing how eager everyone was to make this one of the best days of her pregnancy. Truth be told she would've preferred a small get together at 8 months pregnant her body was extremely sensitive to smell, touch, even too much sunlight would cause a small migraine at times.

Jashae reluctantly got up from her spot, glancing one last time at the birth video before turning off the TV. She knew Lourdes was right—everyone had gone out of their way to make this day special, and the least she could do was show up and enjoy it.

She slipped on the dress Lourdes handed her, a soft, flowy number that hugged her baby bump just right. Lourdes had really thought of everything, down to the comfortable shoes that matched perfectly. As Lourdes helped her with the final touches, Jashae couldn't help but smile at how much effort her friends and family had put into the event.

"I can't believe we're combining everything into one big party," Jashae said, trying to lighten the mood as Lourdes finished up with her hair. "It's like the perfect baby event."

"That's because you're gonna be the perfect mama," Lourdes quipped, stepping back to admire her work. "Now, come on, we're already late."

As they headed out the door, Jashae felt a mix of excitement and nerves. The thought of so many people in one place made her anxious, but she was also eager to find out the baby's gender and share that moment with everyone she loved.

On the way to the venue, Lourdes kept Jashae distracted with stories and jokes, helping to ease her mind. When they pulled up to the venue, Jashae was speechless. The event planners had truly outdone themselves. The space was filled with pastel colors, soft pink and baby blue balloons, floral arrangements, and twinkling lights that made everything look magical. A large sign greeted them with the words: "Baby on Board—Welcome to the Shower & Gender Reveal of Jashae & Xavier's Little Bundle."

"Wow," Jashae whispered, taking in the sight.

"I told you it would be worth it," Lourdes said, giving her a gentle nudge. "Now go enjoy yourself. Ray's already inside looking for you, and Peezy's guarding the cake like his life depends on it."

Jashae giggled, her nerves slowly melting away. The love and care put into this day were indescribable, and for once, she felt fully present in the moment. This was about celebrating her baby with the people she loved, and nothing else mattered.
