A week later
"Syx, we need to ta-" Gigi stopped herself upon entering the office where the group of men stood in the middle of an important conversation. Every so often Syx would gather his team and most trusted confidants to discuss 'business' which included Peezy. She gulped feeling all eyes on her.
"S-sorry, we can talk later" she stammered over her words rushing out of the space.
Syx and Peezy exchanged looks before redirecting their attention back to the group. A while later the men began departing one by one. When Peezy appeared at the exit he felt her eyes watching him. "Gigi, you gon keep staring or you gon speak up?" he smirked cockily.
"Conceited ass" she mumbled. Her nerves increased when he continued to eye her until Misa broke up their awkward stare off.
"Hey P! How's Shae doing? I text her a few times but never heard back" The sound of Jashaes name made a lump form in Gigi's throat she'd been keeping herself busy with the shop and whatever Syx needed help with just to rid her mind of her. She watched as his playful smirk was replaced with a solemn look.
Her anxiety grew once he led Misa outside to continue their conversation. She wondered if Jashae made it, if she lost the baby, and most importantly did anyone know she was involved in the break in.
When Misa returned her face was unreadable Gigi attempted to strike up a conversation but the girl wasn't going for it.
Gigi's mind raced as she watched Misa and her boyfriend walk out shortly after, her heart pounding against her ribcage. She knew she had to talk to Syx, but fear paralyzed her. The stakes were too high, and if anyone found out about her involvement in the break-in, it would all come crashing down.
Taking a deep breath, she finally mustered the courage to approach Syx, who was leaning back in his chair, his focus now on his phone. She hesitated at the doorway, her voice barely above a whisper. "Syx, can we talk now?"
He looked up, sensing her unease, and nodded towards the chair in front of his desk. "Yeah, Gigi. What is it?"
She sat down, her hands trembling slightly as she tried to find the right words. "It's about Tahiri," she started, her voice shaky. "Who?" he asked phone still in hand
"You know Peezys friend Xavier? His ex- fiance I didn't know... I didn't know it would go that far. I thought it was just a break-in. But when I saw the blood... I didn't sign up for that."
Syx's expression hardened, his eyes narrowing slightly. "What are you saying, Gigi? Are you telling me you were there?"
She quickly shook her head. "No! I mean, not inside. But I was there after, with Tahiri. She was... she was out of control, Syx. She was saying all this crazy stuff about Jashae and Xavier. I think she really wanted to hurt them."
Syx leaned forward, his gaze intense. "You need to be straight with me, Gigi. Is Tahiri the one who did this to Jashae?"
Gigi bit her lip, her eyes darting around the room as if looking for an escape. "I didn't see her do it, but... yeah, it was her. She bragged about it after. Said if she couldn't have Xavier, then no one could."
Syx fingers tapped rhythmically on the desk as he processed her words. He'd dealt with loose cannons before, but this was different. This was personal. Their business relationship had slowly blossomed into a friendship especially once Syx stopped mentioning expansion and flirting with Jashae. Xavier was P's family, and by extension, so was Jashae. What Tahiri had done crossed a line that couldn't be ignored and he knew Peezy wouldn't take this lightly.
"Do you know where Tahiri is now?" Syx asked, his tone low and dangerous.
Gigi shook her head. "She's been MIA since that day. I haven't heard from her, but I think she's planning something. She's obsessed, Syx. I don't know what she's gonna do next."
