You told me
I was your princess
You were going to make me a castle
Everything was going to be fine
So you built
And kept making your walls
From far away
It was perfect
You were perfect
As I step through the trees
And get closer to the master piece
You shoo me away
Pushing me back
Only letting me stare afar
Finally
I look closer and move in
This castle you've built
Is nothing but cardboard
Inside
A shack
You lied
To make me feel special
When in reality
You weren't smart enough
To use proper materials
To keep it going
And now
With the first storm
The special castle
Is going to blow away
Taking the princess with it in the wind
As you stand
Not understanding
How it's your fault
And as the wind picks me up and moves me past you
I wave bye
Never turning back
