She raises her fists for combat
She doesn't know how to express her feelings
Her guard is always raised
As she steps out into the light
Her skin shines through
She's beautiful and they don't see it
But some do
With every step
Her past is right behind her
Telling her what she should do
And how she should act
Her face full of tears at the end of another day
No one understands the pain she goes through
No one could imagine
As her step-father enters into her room
Stripping her naked as he touches her
Her mother ignoring her screams
He continues the abuse with his words as he hits her
Telling her she's ugly
She walks through another day
Wanting and wishing to die
Wishing she was never born to such a mother that doesn't do a thing
Her tears swell in her eyes
And she walks away from the school
A note in her locker
A note telling the world of her troubles
A note telling them that the world like this isn't right for her
Wasn't right for her unborn child
And what she did no one could imagine
She jumped from the bridge
They found her body weeks later
Her mother unemotional
Her step-father outraged
As they arrested him
And put him in jail
For child abuse
Sexually
Mentally
Emotionally
Physically
Not guilty is what he pleads
But the note tells something different
The note described gruesome acts
Things that no child should have to go through
And with a hit of a gavel
The judge and jury
Told him of his fate
Life in prison is what he got
Her mother
