ALICE'S POV:Friday.
I spent a couple minutes trying to contain myself after my close interaction with Charles.
I don't know what he was trying to do but I wasn't planning on letting him get away with it.The rest of the day went by rather quickly. I didn't get the chance to talk to Charles at all throughout the day, only stealing glances from one another. So I decided to make my way back to the hotel to go to bed as it was already 8:30 and by the time I got back I would be severely tired.
Saturday, 12:46 pm.
Charles had already made his way to the track for qualifying and I decided to follow on later than yesterday, hoping not to experience another one of our encounters.
Once I arrived I saw Charles standing with his racing suit sitting at his waist as he spoke to an employee.
I tried to stop my eyes from looking at him but he looked a bit too good in his racing suit. Before I could pull Charles aside for a quick word he had been told it was time to head out for qualifying. I sent him a quick smile before he put on his balaclava and his helmet and got into his car.
I waited patiently for qualifying to finish as I watched Charles secure p3 which seemed to be pretty good to me but one of the engineers informed me that they were hoping for pole position.
Another long day went by without getting the chance to speak even one word to Charles. Either he was too busy with post qualifying interviews or media interviews that it was around 7 o clock when I decided to give up trying and head back to the hotel.
Sunday, 14:22
I decided to head to the track an hour and a half before the race as I didn't want to waste too much time trying to get Charles' attention. If he really wanted to speak to me by now he would have and I was starting to have serious doubts about his true feelings towards me after the encounter on Friday.
I slowly strolled around the paddock, trying to waste as much time as possible. I had to show up to the race to confirm Charles' and I relationship but that doesn't mean I have to spend every second with him.
I came to the conclusion that I should atleast try to find out why he has been putting off our much needed conversation. So I made my way to the garage and went straight up to him. I did not give him the chance to ignore me or make up any excuses as I grabbed his hand and dragged him to his drivers room before closing the door behind me and I gestured towards the chair for him to take a seat.
"Alice I really need to get ready" he fussed, pointing towards the door and walking towards it.
"You can wait a minute" I stated, stepping between him and the door.
He looked at me and realised I was not going to give up that easily. He decided not to argue and sat in the seat I had pointed to a moment ago.
"why have you been avoiding me?" I asked with a look of anger and sadness mixed in my expression. Charles studied my face before answering as he must have realised I was being serious about this situation.
"I haven't" he stated, avoiding eye contact and we both knew he was lying. He looked at anything but me.
"Yes you have, do not lie Charles, If more important things have been on your mind recently you could have told me'' I reassured, although my voice held steady and strong with a lace of frustration.
"There has only been one thing on my mind or one person I should say, that is the problem'' Charles spoke, almost shouting as he finally looked me in the eyes and stood up from his chair. His sudden change in tone suprised me.
"And who would that be?" I asked as I started to get frustrated. I was utterly confused at his statement. Who could he be referring to? Emily? The girl he met on Friday? My hands fell to my side and I watched his face for a hint.
"Do you not know? Alice, it is...." Charles began before he as cut off by a knock on the door of his driving room.
"Charles, it is time to prepare for the race" a voice spoke from the other side of the door. Cutting off our conversation.
Charles snapped back into reality and it seemed as thought he had forgotten where he was. He quickly made his way to the door before glancing back at me and leaving me to be alone to think about who it could've been.
