I smile at the messages and put my phone down to get ready, I put on a pair of jeans and one of my nicest shirts just as arthur said.

By the time I was finished getting ready it was 19:56 and I decided it was time to go. I made my way across the street to the coffee shop and sure enough arthur was standing there waiting for me.
"Hey hoodie ruiner" i joked to him, remembering our encounter earlier.
"Heyyyy" he said offended "we are even, i bought you a coffee" He said and placed his hand over his heart in a dramatic way.
"Come on, i thought i was here for a fun time?" I playfully punched his arm.
"yeah yeah let's go" he said as we carefully crossed the street and made our way up to the top floor apartment.
I could hear the song 'heaven and back' by Chase atlantic blaring before we even opened the door and i was scared to think about how loud it would be when we actually got in.
Arthur pushed open the door to reveal a giant, luxurious apartment, if i had to guess it was probably two times bigger than my own apartment.
I grabbed arthur's arm and pulled him down to shout into his ear because of the noise of the music.
"Is this your apartment" I shouted loud enough for arthur to understand what i was saying.
"No its my older brother's, wait until you meet him, you're going to love him" Arthur replied, wiggling his eyebrows as i laughed, then he grabbed my arm and pulled me through a crowd of people, towards what I guessed was the kitchen.
"Wait here, ill go find Charles" Arthur said and hurried off before i could reply.
"Charles?" I shouted to Arthur but he was already gone too far to hear me.
"Yes ma chérie?" i heard someone whisper in my ear.
I quickly turn around worried about who i would find and sure enough it was the prick who ghosted me today.
"Alice'' Charles said with a look of pleasant surprise on his face as he towered over me "what are you doing here?"
"I invited her" Arthur answered before i could, as he stood behind me with two drinks in his hand. " You didnt tell me you knew him, Alice? But i shouldn't be surprised, Charles knows just about every girl in Monaco, don't you Charles?''
Charles scoffed. "Alright mate calm down, i was just asking her a question, Alice could we talk alone for a second?'' charles said.
"No way, I invited her, she's staying with me'' Arthur protested but Charles didn't even glance at Arthur, he kept his eyes on me.
" I think she can speak for herself, Arthur'' Charles said, finally directing his gaze towards his brother.
I turned to Arthur. " It'll only take a minute, stay here'' I reassured him with a smile. Arthur clenched his jaw but nodded his head.
Charles stepped ahead of me and lead me through the crowd into a darker, quiet room that was filled with trophies.
"Did you bring me in here to talk or to show off ?'' I questioned with a smile as he closed the door behind me.
"Would you be mad if i said both?'' I laughed And so did he. "No seriously, I wanted to apologise for earlier, I overslept and I know that's not the best excuse but its true, I even messaged you'' he stated as he pointed towards my pocket instructing me to check my phone.
I pulled it out and opened my messages app, glanced over my recents and when i saw his name wasn't there i showed him too.
"Merde'' he cursed as he copied my actions and took out his phone showing me his screen.
"message not sent'' i said quietly feeling a blush rise to my cheeks when i noticed him staring at me instead of his phone.
"Yeah, anyways how do you know Arthur?'' He asked trying to keep the conversation going almost as though he didn't want me to go back to Arthur.
"After I came to the conclusion that you weren't going to pick me up'' he grimaced at my words.
"I am really sorry about that'' he said sincerely.
"No don't worry its okay, anyways i went to a coffee shop and met Arthur and he invited me here, obviously I didn't realise you guys were brothers'' I kind of started to feel bad as i realised i came to Charles' party with his younger brother.
"So its a date then?'' charles asked. I scanned his face and i could tell his eyes had darkened and saw his jaw clench which I found strange.
"I don't think so, I hope Arthur doesn't think it is because I would hate to ruin his night by telling him I thought this was just a friendly thing'' I winced at my words, Arthur seemed like a nice guy and I really thought he wanted to be friends.
Charles took a step towards me "Hey don't worry about it, i'm sure Arthur just wants to be friends'' Charles reassured me and smiled.
"Yeah you're right, I better get back out there,really nice aparment by the way'' i winked before i bumped into two people behind me who seemed to be kissing and I wiggled my eyebrows at Charles.
The last thing I saw was Charles laugh to himself before I closed the door and made my way back out into the chaos and noise. Was it bad that all I wanted to do was go back and sit in that small trophy room and talk to Charles all night?
