⇝ ⇝ ⇝ From strenuous work to finally sitting in a private jet contemplating my job, some would call this part of the job lucky. I call it, what I deserve. A simple journey with the best care and foods after a mission is a simple request we soldiers put in. The government fulfilled it dutifully. Now, I'm enjoying reading through papers and researching just what my job is in Korea. Platinum-style seats which recline and a window right beside to shred some light.

The nerds back at the London base had prepared my papers just as I was leaving. They came in a brown envelope - the words 'Confidential + Secret' were written in red to ensure that no one outside the inner workings opened it and got arrested. Everyone in the government knew the heavy meaning behind the two words. In movies, it's kind of seen as cringe and a cliché but it has an actual dangerous meaning.

Many secret arrests have been made when files have been lost and picked up by normal people. It's an accident but unfortunately, it can't be treated like one. Top secret information about people all over the world could fall into the wrong hands so easily. Yet, of course, it doesn't happen often.

I opened it halfway through the flight to South Korea. The first letter contained my mission, the reason I was flying to Korea, the people I needed to know, the details I needed to know, and instructions about certain aspects of living in Korea. As well as that, I was told of my mission duration, how much I would earn in pounds once I got back, and how I would receive help.

'Steeleye.

2024 mission to South Korea under Boss Barrett. Mission starting 1st February until mission success.

Steeleye - your mission is to protect and serve a Korean music group. A series of malicious cyber attacks have been threatening the safety of said music group members. As a sniper trained for heavy duty, you must protect and serve as a sniper during music shows and events.

You will land in Seoul, South Korea where you will meet with Korean government members and Korean SEALS units, you must work alongside them to contain the threat and take action if needed. Further papers are provided to give information about Korean members of government you will work with, and the members of the said music group.

In Korea, you must follow Korean customs. You will work with Korean SEALS for some training to build up trust. You will be briefed more when you land so prepare physically for an assessment. The Korean SEALS like to judge our soldiers for themselves!

How to live in Korea domestically will be something you research in your own time. However, a key aspect of living there is simply respecting elders, you do so in Korea by bowing.

Your mission duration is not definite at the moment, further details will find you in a few months. We assume you will be stationed in Korea for the time being as the cyber attacks against the group have not slowed down at this point. You will meet a man called Park Jin-young, who contacted several police firms and eventually the Korean version of the FBI.

Your money will change according to your mission, duration, safety, and how triumphant your mission is towards the end. If you should pass away on this mission, we have your details to send everything you own to your mother whose name and details will not be disclosed in this letter.

Shall you need backup, Korean SEALS who are conditioned will be there to back you up. Also, as your Boss, I encourage you to use your phone more!

Good luck Steeleye.

I read through the letter written by my boss. I sighed at the contents - it sounded like a big job but was it really necessary for a special unit sniper like myself? Why was no one qualified in Korea to do it?
