Are You There God? It's Me, Dean Winchester

"Well, then tell me what else it could have been." Sam said as we sat at the kitchen table in Bobby's house.

"All I know is I was not groped by an angel." Dean paced back and forth in front of Sam and I.

"Okay, look, Dean, why do you think this Castiel would lie about this?" Sam asked.

"Maybe he's some kind of demon. Demons lie." Dean shrugged.

"Dada." Evie made grabby hands up at him.

"A demon who's immune to salt rounds? And devils traps? And Ruby's knife?" Sam sat forward. "Dean, Lilith is scared of that thing."

Dean tugged the sleeve of the Henley he wore up to his elbow to match the other before leaning down to pick up Eve. He leaned against the counter. "Don't you think that if angles were real, some hunter somewhere would've seen one at one point, ever?"

"I've been seeing one since I was six months old." I raised my hand. "Last I checked, I did indeed hunt monsters."

"Yeah, you just did, Dean." Sam added.

Dean sighed. "I'm trying to come up with a theory here, okay? Work with me."

"Dean, we have a theory."

"One with a little less fairy dust on it, please."

"Okay, look, I'm not saying we know for sure, I'm just saying that I think we--"

"Okay, okay. That's the point. We don't know for sure." Dean cut him off. "So I'm not gonna believe this thing is an angel of the Lord because it says so."

"Why can't you believe it because I say so?" I asked. "Dean, you're the one person other than my dad who always believed me when I said I saw, felt, or heard something. Can't you trust me on this?"

"Si, I do trust you. Baby, I do, but you have to see where I'm getting a little stuck here." Dean pleaded. "An angel of the Lord? Really?"

I nodded my head. "I get that this is hard for you, Dean. I get that this is all new and something for the longest time you didn't believe but we have proof now."

"You never pushed this on me before. Why now?"

"Because he saved you." I said. Because he's helping...

I couldn't tell him. Not yet.

"You three chuckleheads wanna keep arguing religion or you wanna come take a look at this?" Bobby called out from the living room. We made our way into the room, stopping in front of the desk where Bobby sat. "I got stacks of lore. Biblical, pre-Biblical, some of its in damn cuneiform. It all says an angel can snatch a soul from the pit."

"What else?" Dean asked, rubbing his arm.

"What else what?" Bobby replied.

"What else could do it?"

"Airlift your ass out of the hot box? As far as I can tell, nothing."

"Dean, this is good news." Sam said.

"How?" Dean asked.

"If you two keep arguing, I'm gonna have to insist we settle it the old fashioned way." Millie flipped through a magazine from her spot on the couch. "A fistfight."

"Because for once this isn't just another round of demon crap." Sam stated. "I mean, maybe you were saved by one of the good guys."

"Okay. Says its true. Say there are angels. Then what? There's a God?" Dean asked.
