Two days later Levi donned the mask he had been restrained from wearing. It's not like he liked his job. He hated it! The suspension was more like a vacation than a punishment. He just liked the feeling of sitting on tall buildings.
From the rooftop Levi could see Enzo and Clementine running through the streets robbing things.
"Well, well, well" Levi said with a smirk.
Pista looked at Levi then whispered to Atel "Don't worry I'll get rid of him" Pista states.
Enzo walks up to Levi and speaks, "Well what do we have here...darling" he says seductively.
Levi turned red under his mask, mumbling incoherently "Oh my god. Oh my god.Oh my fucking god. Oh.My.Fucking.God."
Enzo inched towards Levi slowly as Levi attempted to back up. After a few more steps Levi's back was pressed against a brick wall and Enzo was looking down at him with a smirk. Enzo's face was inches away from Levi's, unruly dark brown hair touching in his face. Levi was beat red and it looked like he was short circuiting. Enzo continued to stare with his seductive smirk and Levi finally spoke.
"F-fine just go. I won't stop you" Levi stammered, his voice sounding strained and high-pitched.
Enzo smiles "How kind of you darling." He said knowing what he was doing to Levi. "I'll be taking my leave. But I'll see you right here at 10." Enzo said before disappearing into the shadows.
Clementine stared at Levi for a few seconds and said a measly 5 words "You're totally bricked right now." she said with a smirk before running off.
Levi stared in disbelief and confusion at Enzo's last words "I'll see you right here at 10." d-did that mean Enzo was planning something. Should he go? What would happen if he didn't? What would he tell Madeline? His mind was racing and the thoughts were overwhelming.
He couldn't focus and his heart was beating so fast he thought it might explode. He didn't know what this feeling was but he was red and he felt as if there was a rope tightening around his chest each second and that if he stayed like this one more minute he would suffocate under everything.
All he knew for sure was that he had to pull himself together because someone once told him..."You are a man and a hero and neither a man nor a hero show weakness. No tears, no fears, only a stoic expression. Never show emotion because that is not a man's job." That is that Levi's dad told him when he was 5 and he has held onto it since then.
Anytime he feels overwhelmed or anxious he repeats to himself, "Men don't cry. Men don't cry. Men.Don't.Cry." Deep down he knew he was one push away from a breakdown. All these bottled up emotions of angst and pain and sadness were bound to overflow. But he prayed that when they did no one was there to witness. Because men go through suffering alone and only alone. And if Levi cried that night, it was his business.
