As I was flying, I heard someone call out my name.
My heart skipped a beat, thinking it might be Porter.
I turned around to see.....
A tall, nerdy looking ghost, wearing glasses as big as his head. His brown hair was neatly combed back and he was wearing a white t-shirt with colourful shorts, attached with suspenders. To top it all off he had a huge red bow tie.
Definitely not Porter.
Once the fellow ghost reached me, his eyes sparkled. "Hello! I'm Marvin, a huge fan of Ghostly Gossip!" He shook my hand with a surprisingly tight grip.
"Aw, thank you. I'm glad you liked it Marvin. I'm-" Marvin quickly cut me off.
"You're Spectra. Only a huge fan would know. I was here on your last adventure, and seeing you in action to stop the wrath of the red lady was astonishing!" He replied, letting go of my hand.
"You were-uh there?" I asked, slightly confused.
Marvin scratched the back of his head. "Well actually, I was one of those fellow ghosts who were chained up. If it weren't for you, I'd probably still be!" He confessed.
I smiled. "Well, I'm glad to see everyone back to normal. Chain free."
"Though there are still some naughty ghosts who deserved being chained." He chuckled.
I giggled at his silly joke.
It was a joke, right?
"The way you stopped the red lady was amazing. You're so nice, and sweet, and kind, and...pretty." Marvin admitted, looking down at his hands.
I blushed. "Oh. Well-uh..thank you Marvin. That was very sweet of you to say." I replied.
Marvin looked up from his hands, and gave me a sweet smile. His dimples flashing in the sunlight, and his green eyes gave off that same sparkle he had before. Without the huge glasses and flashy outfit, he was pretty cute up close.
"So what brings you here?" Marvin asked.
"Just visiting. I miss this place already. To think I've once been away from this school for years, and yet here I am a few weeks later from a visit already missing it like crazy." I laughed.
Marvin chuckled. "Well I wouldn't want to get in the way of your visit. See you around?" He asked.
I nodded, and he smiled before flying off.
Marvin is a really nice guy. I'm glad I met him.
I continued my search for Porter, looking all over the school.
I heard the sound of someone spray painting, as I rounded a dark corner.
Porter's back was facing me, but at the sight of his figure, I couldn't help the sudden squeal escaping my lips.
"Porter!!" I flew up to him as he turned around, and crashed into his arms.
"Spectra!" He wrapped his arms around me and held me tight, as if he'd never let me go.
He picked me up, and spinned me around, before pulling me back into a hug.
"What are you doing here? Don't get me wrong, I missed you." Porter asked, still holding me tight.
"To be honest I missed you so much, so I came to visit." I smiled, while burrowing my head against his chest.
"Well I'm glad you came." Porter replied.
We stayed in that same position for a few more minutes before pulling away.
"So, how are you? Still spray painting?" I asked.
"You know it." Porter winked. "Been a lot easier now that there's no detention chains. No-wait, I mean, chains. There's still detention, sadly."
I sighed dramatically. "How many?"
Porter furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "How many what?"
I crossed my arms. "How many detentions have you gotten?"
Porter put a hand on his chest, pretending to be hurt and offended. "I am offended you think of me that way, you know I never get any detentions and-"
I raised an eyebrow.
"Eight." He sighed.
"Eight?! In three weeks!? Porter, you haven't changed, have you?" I asked.
Porter smirked. "Now, we all know you'd like me better if I don't."
I felt my face slightly heat up, and it did so more when his eyes went down to my lips.
"I well- er" I was suddenly at a loss for words as Porter flew closer towards me, his blue eyes locked onto me.
We seemed to be getting closer and closer each second, until our lips were hovering over each other's. I could feel Porter's warm breath on my lips, as his hands wrapped themselves around my waist, bringing me even more closer until there was barely any space between us.
My stomach churned, as he leaned in, soon closing all space between us.
I closed my eyes, ready to feel his lips pressed against mine.
"PORTER GEISS!"
We jumped apart, as one of those hall monitors named, Present, came flying up to us.
"I finally found you! And caught you red handed! No spray painting on school walls! Detention! Come with me."
"You'll have to catch me first." Porter replied, dodging the hall monitor's hand reaching to get him.
Steam rolled out of the hall monitor's ears in fury. The other hall monitors, Past and Future, came rounding the corner.
"I'll be back." Porter said to me.
"Porter wai-" I was about to say.
"Come and get me!" Porter flew up and away, the hall monitors on his tail.
I sighed, shaking my head. He wouldn't get as many detentions if he keeps running away from it, but that's just Porter.
I wonder what Porter was spray painting of now, I thought.
I turned around to look at the wall, and my heart fluttered in my chest.
There was a beautiful drawing of me on the wall, and I all but sighed in satisfaction.
Porter is the most sweetest guy I've met. Sure he's always getting in detention, can be slightly annoying, and sometimes a big dummy, but there's another side of him. He has a side of him where he only opens it up to me.
I touched the painting on the wall in awe.
I need to tell Porter how I really feel about him, because the feeling I'm feeling right now is....
Love.
