"B-Brother?" Hermione looked between Hadrian and Luna Lovegood, an uncomfortable feeling in her chest as she noticed the soft look in his eyes as he stared in Luna's direction.
"Remember my inheritance test, it said that Pandora Lovegood was my godmother as well as Alice Longbottom. Luna and Neville are my god-siblings" Luna's face held a happy and knowing smile, as well as Neville who had only found out about their bond during the will reading.
Hermione let out a quiet sigh of relief, hating the fact that she was jealous of another girl in Hadrian's life. It wasn't as though he had feelings for her and most likely never would, though she did enjoy the new affection he was showing her whenever they were together, but refused to hope that it meant anything more than a platonic gesture.
"Right... uh- nice to meet you, Luna"
"Nice to meet you too, Lady Hufflepuff" Hadrian and Hermione exchanged shocked looks, suspicious of how the blonde knew of her title which has been well hidden from the public. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me... and Neville"
Neville looked between the three in awe and confusion, knowing he was missing important facts but was happy to be involved nonetheless. He wasn't the most confident or popular bloke and if he was being completely truthful, he wasn't exactly talented in anything but herbology. However, the one thing that he is proud to be is loyal and since meeting Harry— correction, it's Hadrian now, he has remained loyal to the boy, even if they weren't exactly close. It wasn't necessarily their fault, neither one knew they were god-brothers or that their parents were best friends at Hogwarts but he hoped that now they could build that brotherly bond they should have always had.
"Hermione, are you alright? You seem a little... down" Neville questioned softly, seeing the tears in the girl's eyes.
Hermione let out a sigh and slumped down on the seat opposite Neville, running her hands over her face. "Ronald and Ginny are acting... odd. They haven't spoken more than a few words to us since last month, and all we get are heated glares aimed our way whenever we try"
Hadrian smiled sadly as he took the space beside her, grabbing hold of her legs and rotating her body to place her feet on his lap. She gave him a small smile and leaned back against the compartment wall, fiddling with her Hufflepuff ring.
"They're jealous" He commented bluntly, earning confused looks from his god-siblings whilst Hermione looked both frustrated and doubtful.
"But why, Hades? I don't understand! Ronald is supposed to be our best friend but he's acting worse than Malfoy!" She ranted, more tears pouring in her eyes as she thought back to Ron's behaviour towards them throughout the summer.
"Mione, were they behaving that way before I arrived?" His tone was calm and understanding, but something about it sounded as though he already knew the answer to his question.
She paused for a moment and sat in deep thought, trying to think back to his behaviour before Hadrian arrived at Grimmauld's place. If she was being honest, she had spent a lot more time with Padfoot and Moony since she felt a little uncomfortable when she was alone with Ron. He was more clingy and flirty than she had ever seen him, always wanting to sit uncomfortably close to her and at one point, had the guts to grab her thigh under the table during dinner.
