Fire spreads through the viridescent trees,
Setting every branch aflame,
Eating away like a disease,
Defying even the thought of being tameThe creature flees from the ribs of its tree,
As the blaze invades the home it's made,
Leaving behind ash and debris,
Now only a distant memory that too will fadeThe sky is filled with a fiery hue,
The air contaminated with poisonous fume,
It was a sickening view,
As each evergreen built its own tombI am the fire that burns within,
I am the forest that hides from the sun,
I am the bystander with chills on her skin,
I am nothing yet everything in one-JackQ written April 18th, 2024
