Chapter 23: Corporate Takeover

On another floor someone in a white button up shirt is talking to a customer. "You see this version of you has two homes up in the mountains. If would be worth it just for that in my opinion." He gets cut on by an alarm. "Oh I'm very sorry sir I'm afraid we will have to put this on hold." He walks out leaving him there joining the massive crowd of people with the same outfit all with a happy customer service face, and brandishing a magnum. The elevator opens, and Raleigh's collection of Clyde's all pile out it was a very tight fit. She points the crowd. "Charge!" They all draw their weapons not really rushing or anything, but still walking towards them. "I guess they are still him after all." She smiles watching them. "Please refrain from any violence within the premises." One of the men in suits says firing at one of the weaker Clyde's he falls to the floor the wound is not fatal, but clearly painful. 

She realizes her mistake staying back to watch rushing forward to lead them. "They really are." She says stabbing one of them. It begins to bug out shaking like crazy still walking toward her with the blade inside it. "Please refrain..." It tries to talk but its smoking now. "Looks like they are robots. Girl Clyde says shooting one in the head. "Huh weird. They should've sent these guys to begin with. I don't feel as bad about destroying some dumb robot." Raleigh says slicing it in half. One of the Clyde's steps forward he looked like a samurai. He pulls out his katana attacking a few of them, and sheaving it again. They fell to pieces as soon as he put it away. A few of them clap it seems not all of them are the worst at fighting. "That literally makes no since but it was awesome." A Clyde with glasses said. 

They were destroying them with minimal injuries. Eventually defeating every one of them. They all seemed very proud of themselves Raleigh was too. They didn't have long to think though because the ground above them gave in, and giant mechs came falling down. They fired on them to no effect. The mechs lowered their giant first down on them knocking them out cold. "I don't think we can take these guys." Boyish Clyde says. "Fall back I got this Raleigh says knocking one away with a hammer. They changed their focus to her as Clydes all got out of their range. Some of them still shot at the mechs, but the armor was too thick to do anything. 

She knocked off one of the arms of barley dodging its other arm that had a large sword in its hand. They all surrounded her, she might be in trouble now. Another one swung its weapon down on her. All she could do is block it struggling to do much else with them all surrounding her another one swung its hammer hitting her from the side, and into the wall. She got um struggling a little, but knowing she has to keep fighting. The mechs all walked towards her unrelenting about to resume their attack, but before they could a man rushed in cutting one of their legs and the chest cavity it fell to the floor as he grinned looking back at Raleigh. "Sorry we are a little late. Other me." The man is pretty well built with bright orange hair just like her this had to be the Raylin Girl Clyde mentioned. "Man guy me is kinda hot." She says under her breath. More Raleigh rush in destroying a mech each. All of them grinning ear to ear at her.  

All the different Raleigh were now reunited with their Clydes. Well, all except the normal one. Raylin walks to girl Clyde. "There is my girl." She blushes a little. "I have a name." She says just like she did earlier. He smiles reaching his hand out wanting her to shake. She smiled gripping his hand happy to be with him again. A much taller, and well-endowed Raleigh went over to the short boyish Clyde lifting him into the air and hugging him smothering him thoroughly. All the other Clydes seemed jealous of him. Raylin looks around the room seeing that all of them are paired up with their people except the normal Raleigh. 

"Looks like there's only one thing left to do. Kick the boss man's ass, and save the final Clyde." He says for most of them to say. "Right." back to him. Before they can do anything a giant robot rips the wall off the side of the building it's about 10 stories tall hovering around the floor they are on. "Useless they are all useless." It's the CEO talking to them from inside the giant robot. "I'll have to crush all of you personally." Clyde is sitting in a cage kinda embarrassed he thinks he probably looks like a helpless princess and wonders how exactly it came to this. "Boss fight time." One of the Clydes yells out. 

"Everyone pick a limb," Raylin says. "You can have point since it's your Clyde." He says to Raleigh. They all Spread out around it. The Clydes mostly covered them all from behind, and The Raleighs mostly jumped onto the robot itself hacking away. Samurai Clyde joined them though along with a Raleigh that seemed to be a ninja breaking the robot's wings and causing it to crash to the ground below. Raleigh Jumped on it right before it started to fall ripping into the cage to save her partner.

"It's about time." He said only for her to cross her arms. "Fine, then next time I'll let you stay captured by the evil businessman guy." He relents taking her hand. "Fine, thank you for saving me." She smiled happy that he was back now. She picked him up bridal style only further embarrassing him and jumping away setting him down out of the way. The CEO wasn't done yet. The robot got up angry firing indiscriminately. They all took cover. The robot itself didn't have much keeping it together it was just a matter of getting to it. "Let's do a Dopplerganger attack," Raleigh says for them all to agree. Raylin turns his Multi-tool into a giant hammer Raleigh gets onto it and gets launched it toward the robot. Two other Raleigh bolted its metal feet to the floor barely avoiding the shots being fired. Finally, Raleigh turns her Tool into a spear holding it forward and piercing straight through the robot. It starts to explode. "No, no it's not fair. Why don't you get it? We are the same you would be me if things were different." The CEO screams out as it falls to the ground most likely killing him inside. All of them begin to celebrate. Even some of the employees who were climbing out of the rubble were. "I always hated that guy." One of them said.

Clyde walked over to Raleigh a little lost in thought still. "You know he's kinda right." She looked at him puzzled. "About what." "I was lucky to have you show up to my boring world. I really could've been just like him. I guess I should say." He pauses not wanting to do it but knowing he should. "Thank you for saving me." She smiles at him. "What. Clyde thanking me for once are you sure you're my Clyde." Even he cracked a smile at that. "I won't make a habit of it I promise." Even still it left him with a lot to think about. Luck is something that people don't like to admit played a major factor in their life. They shame others for failing. Saying they just didn't try hard enough when there are so many factors that led that person to reach their goals. All of this he would try to remember. "Oh and Clyde. Have a little more faith in yourself." She said to him leaving him alone to ponder joining the celebration.

They all mingled amongst each other comparing stories, seeing how different they were from each other. Some of them were a bit further along in their journey than others boasting of their exploits. Some of them had completely different stories that didn't line up with the others at all, but in the end, they all got on their receptive Hopper and flew away. Raylin and girl Clyde were the only ones left. "Man girl me is kinda hot," Clyde said quietly. "I can hear you, me." She says glaring. "Guess you aren't that bad looking either though." Raylin laughs. "Good luck to you guys I hope we can meet again, with less kidnapping that is." "You bet!" Raleigh smiles. They wave, and leave as well. She leans against The Hopper looking pretty tired. "You were right Clyde I think I could use a break right about now. I hope the next world we enter has like a spa or something." "That is something we both can agree on." They both walk back into the ship, lift off, and out of the world.
