Lucy took a deep breath gasping for air. They had been laying there for hours inches from death. The Empire was gone right after they confirmed her heart, and brain waves stopped, yet here she was still alive although barley. She herself doesn't seem to understand how it is she is still alive. She looks over at Clyde seeing symbols glow on his arm. She gasps knowing what they are. She uses cubes to lift herself up, and forming a stretcher to take Clyde to her emergency room. First she starts healing herself knowing they are both dead if she can't. With her technology, and knowledge she patches herself up turning her attention to Clyde. He is a lot worst for wear barley clinging to life.
A few hours pass, and he stabilizes no longer in danger. She gets a call on a big screen she answers it to reveal its none other then Loki calling. At first he looks worried, but then confused. "Doctor is that you? You are fine as hell." She smiles. "It sure is lion boy. I'm glad you like it." She say's winking. "Well enough about that did my friends make it to you?" "Yeah they did..." Loki cuts her off. "Why is Clyde's card red? Oh well I guess it isn't anymore, but." She looks a little annoyed. "You should've told me they were coming. The boy is fine its the girl that's in trouble. The empire took her."
Loki look's distraught. "I was afraid you might say that. They tried to attack us too, but because the rules of my world they couldn't, and ended up fleeing. I fear that they might have attacked worlds they recently visited. Should I.." She interrupts him. "I know you prefer that hippy peace, and love stuff so why don't you just sit on your fanny for now I got this." She hangs up on him before he can say anything else.
Clyde had woken up hearing most of their conversation. "What did they do with... her..." He asks weakly. She takes a moment to answer. "Most likely they took her to The Trial Worlds. The place they keep all their experiments." Clyde stops to think this is all a mess. He wanted to save her, but he didn't know if he stood even a fraction of a chance or why they are still breathing. He felt like he had not really been taking there journey seriously. Selfishly fulfilling his dream of living an interesting life. He sat up burying his head into his knees. "Tell me how are we still alive."
"Well I suppose you are to thank for that." She says. He raises his head looking at her. "I did?" He said confused. "Well more accurately the power granted to you by your arm." She states touching his arm causing the symbols to glow. "I don't know how or why, but you have an arm of the multiverse. Not many people know about it." She explains. "That meaning what?" He asks. "Well sorta like a guiding hand granted by The trees caretaker. It manipulates the odds in your favor. We probably only survived thanks to the minuscule chance we would." He thought about it for a moment. He had been rather lucky. Escaping death many times. It almost seemed unfair he wondered if he should thank The Caretaker or curse him. If everything always went his way are you really living. Then he remembered his predicament. "So the power of a protagonist? That would be cool if I wasn't still weak as hell, and Raleigh was alright." He sunk his head back into his knees. "Well unfortunately it just increases the chances you can still die, and all that. But I guess that's already apparent." She says.
"You said you could modify a body with your mind right? Could you make me stronger?" He ask keeping his head down. "Well I may have... Over exaggerated my power. While I do have to knowledge to do that I don't have the technology and resources after that attack. The only thing I can do right now is return your body to it original stake removing the scars you've accumulated, and such. And even if you managed that The Old man has the Universal code in the Trial worlds he could erase your existence as soon as you arrived." Clyde sighs he doesn't know what to do he can't possibly save Raleigh. He thought of anyone who could help. He figured Loki wouldn't be able to this time around, the Ultra Scouts maybe? He really wished he had god powers from that fantasy world now. That's when he remembered Rebbecca. He raises his head saying. "Universal Hackers."
