Everyone had gathered at the base of the tree, all enemies had scattered throughout the multiverse. The once great empire that boasted control over a large section of the Multiverse was scattered, surely they were not completely gone, but they were out of the picture for the foreseeable future after being hit with such a heavy blow. Clean-up started to commence as Union, and Mecha soldiers searched the now-empty battlefield for survivors and notable casualties. The General managed to climb out of the rubble of the crashed ship, very banged up, but alive. Marcy was close by, already searching for her, ecstatic to see her. She approached her like a little dog happy to play with the people around.
"Well, we aren't dead, so. I'm guessing we won out." She said dusting herself off. Marcy just nodded, smiling. After everyone had been found or recorded, they met at the base with the rest of them, with one exception. Rebbecca was never found, she looked down at them from way above the tree. She tapped her headphones and started a call with someone. "I got what we came for." She told them. "What about your secondary mission." The person on the other end asked. "I had the clone with me, but I lost it in the miasma." She said with a much less cheery tone than usual. "Unfortunate, but no matter, good work, Trojan Seven." The call ends as she takes one last look down at all of them, choosing not to interact and leave through a portal before they notice.
Everyone at the base talked amongst themselves, briefing each other on the basics of what happened. Loki tapped his foot in annoyance. "Enough of this. We should be celebrating, it's not every day we accomplish a feat as great as this. To Valhalla! We can discuss it more there" He commanded with pretty much everyone unanimously agreeing. Natasha shook her head. "If my men want to go, I'll allow it, but I have to return for my punishment." She said, making her men a little sad. "Forget those shitheads, you did nothing wrong, boss," Jacob said to her before anyone else could speak up.
"I don't disagree, but it's something I have to do. If it saves the rest of you from being punished." She says. The Squad surrounds her with smug grins. Marcy looks like she wants to stop whatever it is they are doing, but she lets it happen as they start to tie her up. "If you're going down we are going with you stupid, so have a drink with us," Jacob said as the rest of them carried her off. She looked a little annoyed but was too injured to stop them, she ended up smiling as they carried her off.
The Mecha Commander approached Raleigh with his giant robot. "Allow us to take your ship back to wherever you want it to be repaired." He said to her. Her eyes sparkle with excitement. "You mean it!" "Yes, Ma'am." He said, saluting her with the Mecha as a few others picked it up, and carried it away. "You still better be careful with my ship!" She said as they flew off.
They all reached Valhalla ready to have the party of their lives. Loki had already made preparations, confident they would win. Some of them got banged up pretty badly, but were lively all the same, drinking and being merry. Clyde sat next to Raleigh, eating some well-deserved food. "I never would have thought that the day we met would end up like this." Raleigh was chowing, scarfing a ton of food down but stopped a moment to answer him. "What did you think would happen?"
"Well, a part of me thought we would crash into something and die with your landing skills," Clyde said, teasing her. "Haha. You're lucky, you're beat up right now." She said, annoyed with him. She ate a bit more before resting her head on his shoulder. "I'm glad we met." He didn't exactly expect this, but he didn't stop her smiling. "Yeah me too."
On the other side of the table, Loki was almost fixed to the chair, unable to move from how exhausted he was. Lucy decided to feed him, giggling. The Squad decided to do something similar with The General, but well it was more like a game of pong, all of them very drunk, including her. Cyrus and Darrian stayed off to the side, feeling a bit unsure if they should join in on the celebration any more than that since their past association with the empire. But Jacob quickly pulled them in, handing them some flagons to drink from.
Everyone started to get drunk except for Clyde, who quickly started to feel like a babysitter surrounded by children. Theron however also seemed mostly fine, and she had packed them in like the rest of them. "Why don't you take her to bed, I can watch over everyone." She winks at him."Oh, um, we aren't.... Never mind." He decided it was better just to do as she said than try to explain anything further.
He struggled to guide the giggling woman to her room. She was much stronger than him, after all. Before they reached the room, she passed out, only making things harder. He lifted her, struggling with his battle damage, and because she was pretty heavy. "Damn it, why do you have to have so many cybernetics." He mumbled, finally dropping her off at her room. He was about to leave, but she pulled him into the bed, clinging to him tightly, still giggling.
He blushes lightly, accepting this was just where he was sleeping tonight, hoping he wouldn't become on the receiving end of her fury in the morning. When the morning did come she woke up before him steaming hot red with embarrassment. She was about to punch his still sleeping body, but she stopped herself after remembering he was injured, she would let him have this even though it was her fault in the first place.
Everyone started to return home. Loki waved them all off With Marcel and Lucy. Theron stayed with them too until everyone left, returning to The War World, she was excited to begin working on her new ideas for The War World now that she was in charge of it all. "I'm still a little disappointed no one would put on a swimsuit," Loki said sadly. "Well, maybe not everyone but," She pulled open her shirt a little to let him see inside. "Want to go see mine." She said, winking at him. He nods with serious eyes as they rush off to have fun, and Marcel shakes his head.
The Union did indeed punish The General, and her officers, though now everyone knew The Empire's plans she had received most of the credit from the public perspective. So most of their punishment ended up being superficial. They wanted to bury her. She smirked just thinking about how angry they were, finally feeling happy with her place in the world. The Squad, and Marcy were off to the side waiting for her return to them with joy.
The Scouts, for better or worse, were influenced greatly, from all this time outside their naive world. They had returned home much more jaded, and edgy, maybe it would inspire a new show in Clyde's world. For now, they would rest and wait for the next threat to their world to appear, and it didn't seem like they would be waiting long, as a monster started to attack the city they were overseeing while it was being rebuilt.
Cyrus returned to the island with Darrian. They set out to do everything they wanted. All of Raleigh's sisters found a home somewhere in the multiverse. They went around attacking hold-outs of the empire they were told had sisters in their possession occasionally freeing them, and finding them homes as well. It was impossible to know if they ever freed everyone single one of them, but the had done more then anyone could have asked. Now they can finally sit back and relax. It was hard, still feeling guilty of their part in the empire's plans. One day as they were opening the bakery Tara woke up, Darrian hugged the confused girl sobbing uncontrollably. He was worried that would never happen. Cyrus watched a little off to the side, a little sad Inari couldn't be here to see it. But her warm smile brought him back to reality. They still had this daughter to take care of.
Somewhere in Between Spaces in The Multiverse, Marcus struggles to walk around. All that remains of his mighty fleet is a handful of ships and the battered Chimera Legion. "I can't believe that was his plan. What a joke. Screw him, screw all of them! I'm going to forge my destiny now. We will rebuild the empire better than ever before, and we will do it using her." He laughs, limping toward the Capsule holding the clone of Raleigh. Through a stroke of random luck, it had come across his path. Cindy was wary, not sure if she should try and convince him otherwise.
His men still loyal to him looked on with shaky optimism as he pressed buttons on the machine, opening the capsule. The water flushed out, and nothing seemed to happen at first, but after a moment the clone took a deep breath and opened her eyes, something The old man never intended to happen when he made her.
Clyde, and Raleigh, looked through a window as their ship was being repaired to be better than it ever was. The greatest reward Raleigh could ask for after it all. He wasn't sure what to expect in the future. It had been a long journey to get here, and it marked the end of this story, but not the end of theirs. They will surely go on many more adventures together. Raleigh held out her hand as he took it, they watched through the window with excitement and anticipation for the future.
