Minju pov
It's been almost two months since the semester started, and the exams are already looming closer. The anxiety is plain to see, but the relationships between my friends and I have seen some interesting developments since the beginning of the term.
Take Hyunjin and Yura, for example. They've gotten really close-everyone can see it. They don't admit it out loud, but they're pretty much always together, whether it's during lunch, between classes, or after school. It's sort of cute, honestly.
For me, I've been struggling with math. Of course, I had to beg the one and only Kim Seungmin for help. As usual, we are always at each other's throats when we study. But I have to admit, it's a pretty effective way to make me learn-if only to prove him wrong!
"Seungmo, you have to help me with this problem!" I called out, catching him during a break between classes, practically pleading.
He raised an eyebrow, smirking at me. "Oh, struggling with numbers again? Maybe if you paid attention in class, you wouldn't need my help."
"Very funny," I shot back, rolling my eyes. "You know I'm trying my best!"
"Is that what you call it?" He grinned, teasing me. I wanted to smack his face.
Before I could throw a playful insult back at him, Felix interrupted with an offer. "Hey, Minju, if Seungmin is too busy, I can help you with the math."
Seungmin's smirk faltered a little as he looked at Felix though he tried to play it off casually.
"Really? You gonna help me?" I said, grateful for the backup. "Thank you so much."
"You've got it," Felix replied with a smile, completely unaware of Seungmin's silent eye-roll.
But it didn't miss Jisung's sharp eyes. "Look at you, Seungmin, all sullen now that someone else is taking over your thunder. What, are you jealous of Felix?" Jisung smirked.
Seungmin scowled at our friend, trying to keep his cool. "I'm not jealous," he grumbled. "I just don't like when people butt in where they're not needed."
"Sounds like jealousy to me!" Jisung continued, clearly enjoying his tease too much.
I laughed at the exchange. "Oh, come on, it's just math help! Besides, you're not my only option." I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Well, if you ever need the superior option, you know where to find me," Seungmin shot back, his smirk returning.
"Wow, that's a lot of talk for someone who just got replaced," Jisung teased, making Felix and I laugh.
"Don't push it, Han Jisung," Seungmin warned, but there was a twinkle in his eyes.
"You guys are too much," I said as I couldn't help but shake my head at them.
So, I sat down with Felix to go over the math problems, and Seungmin lingered nearby, pretending to be engrossed in his own work but sneakily listening in on our conversation.
"So, Minju, where are you struggling the most?" Felix asked, flipping open his notebook and picking up a pencil.
I sighed, flipping through my own notes. "Honestly, it's pretty much everything after trigonometry," I admitted. "I just can't seem to wrap my head around calculus."
Seungmin couldn't resist chiming in from his seat nearby. "Looks like someone needs to go back to basics," he teased, a smug grin playing on his lips.
I shot him a playful glare. "Don't start with me, Kim Seungmin. I know you secretly enjoy helping me with math problems," I retorted, earning a chuckle from Felix.
