Logan groaned as he rolled out of bed. He sat up and looked out the window, noticing the sun wasn't even fully up yet.

He ran a hand over his five o'clock shadow and sighed, he hated waking up early.

Especially if it was from a nightmare like he just had. All the images flashed in his head.

The image of what happened to him in the lab, even years later, was still fresh in his mind.

He didn't know how long he was sitting there before the sunburn started to shine through his window. Groaning, he threw the bedsheets on his lap and stood. He made his way into the bathroom and turned on the shower.

He stripped and stepped in, picking up his scent blocker body wash. He showered and dried off before brushing his teeth and making his way back out of the bathroom, avoiding the mirror as much as possible. He knew he looked awful; he didn't need to look in the mirror to know that.

He got dressed in his usual dark jeans and T-shirt before making his way out of his room and down to the kitchen to make himself something to eat.

He was happy that he didn't run into anyone on the way there, but when he looked at the time upon entering the kitchen, he realized why it wasn't even seven o'clock yet. He quickly made himself a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich.

He ate and put the dishes in the washer before heading outside. He walked away from the mansion, and toward an area, he'd been coming to ever since he got back.

He walked deep into the forest before coming to a lake. He jumped upon a rock, sat on top, and watched the lake for a few hours.

The sun was beating down on his skin but he didn't mind. He sat there until his phone rang.

Taking it out of his pocket. He grumbled when he saw it was Charles. Pressing the green button, he placed the phone in his ears.

"Yeah?" He answered.

"Logan. I need you to come to the office," Charles said, and Logan hung up.

He stood up and jumped off the rock. He slowly walked through the forest. He wasn't in any rush to get back to the mansion to be surrounded by all the people.

He finally made it back and went to Charles's office, not bothering to knock. He entered. "You took your time, didn't you?" Scott said as he entered the office, and Logan growled.

"Logan," Charles said smoothly and the man looked at him.

Charles was a Beta. So, Logan was OK with him more than he was around the other genders.

"Why am I here?" He asked gruffly.

"There is a mission," Charles said, rolling out from behind his desk and towards the window. "We need you to go on it. Some new drugs are hitting the streets, but they're mostly targeting mutants. We already took out most of the other sources, but this is the biggest," Charles said, and Logan's eyes narrowed at him.

"Why do I have to go?" he asked. "Why can't the regular team deal with it?" Scott hugged, causing Logan to glare at him.

"Got something to say Summers?" He asked, and Scott frowned at him.

"Look, I'm the leader of the regular group. But we've taken out so many that they expected us to go to this last spot." Scott said, he stepped forward and crossed his arms. "So, we can't go in alone, we need the extra help." He said and Logan rolled his eyes.

"Whatever," he said, turning back to the professor, "When are we going?" He asked. And Charles smiled at him.

"Later tonight, around Seven-thirty," Charles said, and Logan nodded before exiting the office.

He sighed as the door closed behind him. The Alpha Pheromones were overwhelming.
