A month later

Scott sighed as he walked down the hall of the institute. He paused for a second and stared at Logan's door. No one had seen or heard from Logan since he and Scott had that argument in the hangar.

He saw the hurt flash through Logan's eyes before he left that day and he couldn't help but feel like shit.

He had been stressed and frustrated before the mission, and then, with everything that happened on the mission, he kind of just exploded.

He made his way down to the ground floor and outside. He walked towards the training ground and bit back a groan when he saw Jean.

They had broken up two weeks before the mission with Logan. And she was not making it easy. He had told her from the start that they would be together until their birthday, and if Jeans wasn't his mate. Then they would break up.

She had found her mate but hadn't told Scott until he broke up with her. Her mate was Kitty.

She was furious when Scott broke up with her. They never did anything, except a few dates, pecks on the cheek, holding hands, and cuddling.

She had wanted to have sex, but Scott didn't want to. He wanted to wait for his mate. He knew most Alphas didn't wait until they were twenty-one and met their mate to have sex. But he wanted to.

"Hey, Scott," Jean said, bouncing over to him as she spotted him.

She went to grab his arm, but he dodged her. "Hello, Jean," he said, walking further onto the training field and watching the trainees.

He and the older X-men, the ones who actually went on missions, trained the younger students to handle their powers. They didn't train them to join the team; they trained them so they wouldn't have accidents when they were ready to leave the institute. If they did wish to join the team, they could, but it wasn't a requirement.

"Start small with your flames, then build them up, Mike," he called out to one of the newer students.

The student nodded in return and did what Scott said. Cheering happily when it worked.

"So, Scott," Jean said following him. "Wanna hang out later? We could go on a date," she said and Scott rolled his eyes.

"How is Kitty, Jean?" He asked and the girl frowned at him.

"How should I know?" She asked and Scott raised a brow at her.

"Because she is your mate," He said, before shaking his head and turning away.

He made his way back to the house and out to the garage. He opened it and made his way to his red convertible. He hopped in and turned it on before driving out of the garage and off the institute grounds.

He drove until he got to the suburbs just outside the city. But turned off before he got there. He drove carefully through the trees. He didn't even have to think about where he was going. It just came to him. He pulled up in front of an old abandoned factory.

He parked the car and climbed out, slamming the door behind him. He climbed the broken stairs up to the roof. He sat at the edge and leaned back, enjoying the breeze coming from the lake down below. It was a beautiful view, the trees down below and the lake, too. If he turned around, he would be looking out into the suburban area.

He sat there for a few hours before the rain started to fall and he needed to leave. He made his way back down the stairs. As he got to the stairs on the second floor, his foot slipped and he started tumbling toward the floor.

He yelled and prepared for the hard floor, but it didn't come because something snatched him out of the air. He opened his eyes as he was placed down on his feet. He felt the hand that held him let him go, and he took a deep breath, gasping when the sweet smell of his mate hit his nose.

spinning around, Scott froze looking into blue eyes that stared at him. "Logan," He said as the man glared at him. He watched as the man turned and walked off toward the forest. Scott looked back at his convertible before looking back at the man walking away from him. He rushed over to his car and pulled up the top locking it in place before rushing after the man who was looking at him from the tree line.

Wolverine turned and started to walk as the shorter male got closer. They walked for about twenty minutes, with the rain getting heavier before they came to the backyard of a suburban house. Scott looked around admiring the clean yard. There was a covered pool, a few lawn chairs, a barbeque station, and neatly groomed flower beds lined the fence separating the houses.

He followed Logan up the stairs to the back porch and into the house. He stood awkwardly by the door as Logan walked down the hall. He pushed his wet hair out of his face and watched as Logan came back with a towel and handed it to him before turning again and making his way up the stairs.

Scott toed off his shoes and cautiously made his way further into the house. He passed a few closed doors before he came to the living room. Spreading the towel on the floor he sat down on it, not wanting to sit on the couch with his wet clothes. He didn't know how long he was sitting there before he heard footsteps coming down the stairs and looked up to see Logan coming down.

The man looked at Scott before sighing and motioning for him to follow. Scott quickly got up and followed him upstairs, where Logan showed him a bathroom. He mumbled a 'thanks' and received a nod before the wolverine left. He came back with some clothes, handing them to him before leaving.

Scott showered and dressed in the clothes, noticing that they were Logan's when he smelled them. He exited the bathroom and made his way downstairs, finding Logan sitting on the couch he slowly made his way over and sat at the other end.

"So, you are an omega?" He asked and winced and the glare Wolverine shot him.
