[Chapter 4]

Chapter 4

Reader's POV

It's been a few days since Kim's incident. Currently, she's laying down on a couch resting to recover. Zane has still been locked up in one of the rooms out of fear that a woman would actually take such interest in him.

We've discovered that Kim was possessed, or at least showed symptoms of possession according to Lucinda. Kim also doesn't seem to recall any of the events between falling asleep at the sleepover and waking up with us surrounding her in worry.

While Aphmau and Lucinda have been helping Kim recover, Aaron, Garroth, Gene and I have been cleaning and sprucing up the place.

After cleaning an old dusty grandfather clock with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, I sit down and sigh resting.

Gene walks over to me, just having finished cleaning a different miscellaneous piece of furniture. "You tired?"

"A little." I relax.

"The sooner we get done cleaning the stuff in this room, the sooner we can have lunch."

"Ooo, I love food!" I replied excitedly jumping up and rapidly starting to clean furniture again.

Gene chuckles a little and cleans a random drawer.

We finished cleaning the room and headed back to the main area. Aaron and Garroth were already there with Aphmau, Lucinda, and a resting Kim.

"How's Kim doing?" I ask approaching the group.

"She's still going in and out of it, but she's getting better. For now, all we can do is just keep an eye on her."

I nodded, accepting her answer.

"Alright, so there are a few things we need to do." Aaron speaks up.

"Like what?" Aph asks.

"Lunch soon? Hopefully?" I ask, my stomach growling loudly.

Everyone looks at me in astonishment.

"What? I'm hungry" I complain.

"We're running out of food" Aaron states.

I gasp at the information.

"Plus, we need a few supplies" Aaron adds.

"That's right! I almost forgot! We kind of need food to survive" Aph giggles.

I look at her dumbfounded, how could she forget about the delicacy of food?

"This would be the perfect opportunity to get Kim out of the house." Lucinda exclaims.

"Alright! Well then, I guess it's a road trip!"

"I'll stay back with Zane, I want to make sure he's okay," Garroth states.

Aaron turns to look at me. "You wanna come?"

"Nah. I think I'll stay and make a small snack for myself or something."

"Good idea. Well then, let's get going." Lucinda states.

With that said Aaron, Aphmau, Kim and Lucinda walk out. Garroth walked off in search of Zane.

"You don't want to go into town?" I ask Gene.

"No. Not really."

"Then why'd you decide to come? I thought maybe you had like an errand around here or something?"

"I didn't want you to get hurt while you're here"

"Uhuh... Are you sure it's not because you're jealous of Aaron?" I ask suspiciously.
