Reader's POV

"L-Lucinda? G-Gene?" I stuttered with widened eyes. I couldn't believe it. They were here! How? How did they escape? Millions of thoughts ran through my head. I was at a loss. "How're you guys' here?" I asked, recollecting myself.

"The storm calmed down a bit and we managed to make our way through the forest" Lucinda giggled.

"Yeah! We sure did!" Gene smiled, enthusiastically giving a thumbs up.

"How did you guys get out of the cages?" I asked, still a bit shocked.

"Y/N, you too? What's with everyone today?" Lucinda asked.

"Y/N, are you okay? Do you need to sit down?" Gene asked showing concern, ushering me to a couch to sit down on.

I shot a worried glance at Aphmau. Gene is usually not like this. Not at all.

"Lucinda... Aaron and Y/N found you guys in a cave, a cave that connects to the secret passageway. You two were caged up and hanging from the ceiling." Aphmau tells Lucinda.

"Umm, no we weren't." Lucinda responds.

"Yes, you were, I saw it, with my own two eyes." I stood, speaking my mind.

Gene sat me back down onto the couch, shushing me.

"You told them about the Emeralds and the forever potions Lucinda. And the stranger who was holding you guys captive, you said that person wasn't a witch or a wizard." Aphmau recalled.

"That sounds like a weird thing to be talking about on vacation." Lucinda said.

"We aren't on vacation; this is far from a vacation."

Gene laughed, "Of course we're on vacation!"

Yep. Definitely not Gene.

"Girl, you need to lighten up!" Lucinda smiled.

"Aph, Y/N! We're gonna have to find another way into the cave. Something happened and now it's sealed up from this side. I tried to break through but I- Is that Lucinda!? And Gene?!" Aaron walks down the stairs, surprised by the missing people suddenly in front of us.

"Yeah."

"But you two were in a cage. How did you get out?"

Lucinda and Gene were about to speak in response to Aaron, when Aphmau coughed, interrupting them. "Aaron, Y/N, can I have a word with you two in private?"

I stood up from the couch leaving Gene and Lucinda behind as I followed Aaron and Aphmau across the room.

"What's going on?" Aaron asked.

"I have no idea."

"Did you notice their eyes?" Aphmau asked.

I looked back at the two we were talking about; indeed, their eyes were both green.

"I did, but they're both acting just like Zane." Aaron pointed out.

"You're right..." I thought aloud.

"They also mentioned something about their brother, that they got separated from." Aph revealed.

"Brother? Dante's not even here and Lucinda's not related to them in anyway...?" What's going on?

"That's exactly like Zane..." Aaron mentioned.

"What's going on?" I voiced my worries, shivering a little.
