"Get ready, we're going somewhere," Jeongwoo said.
"Where are we going?"
"It's a secret. Just get ready," he said and smiled.

He said we were going somewhere, so I went to my room and fixed myself up. I put on my dress and my coat because it was cold outside. Winter was approaching.

I went downstairs.
Jeongwoo put a blindfold over my eyes.
"Where are we really going?"
"It wouldn't be a secret if I told you," he said.

I was really confused about what was happening right now.
He helped me get out of the house and helped me get into a car.

A few minutes later, it felt like the car stopped.  The door opened, and Jeongwoo helped me out.
I guess we had reached our destination.
I couldn’t see or hear anything, so I just followed Jeongwoo wherever he was taking me.
We stopped walking, and Jeongwoo removed my blindfold.
As I opened my eyes, I saw Doyoung, Jihye, and Jihoon.
The place was beautifully decorated, and there was food everywhere.
"Surprise," they said. My heart filled with joy.  Jihye grabbed the cake, lit the candles, and they started singing “Happy Birthday.”

After they sang, Jihye brought the cake closer to me.
I made a wish before blowing out the candles.
I wished that no one would leave me again.
I knew it was a bit childish, but I did it anyway. Who knows, maybe wishes could come true.

After that, I blew out the candle, and Doyoung called a staff member from the restaurant to take a picture of us.
Then I realized that Junghwan wasn't there. Where was he?
"Where is Junghwan?" I asked.
"He said he wasn't in the mood to go anywhere," Jihoon said, and I just nodded.

We all gathered together so we could take a picture of us.
I was happy, but it would have been even happier if Junghwan was there.
After taking the picture, we sat down and ate.
"It isn’t my birthday anymore," I said.
"We know, but you haven’t celebrated yet because of what happened,” Jeongwoo said.

JIHOON

Two hours earlier...

I texted Junghwan.

'Hey, Junghwan, are you coming with us?' —jihoon

'

No' —junghwan

'But why?' —jihoon

'My mouth wouldn’t let me.  What if I can’t control myself and say there that Jeongwoo is leaving?'— junghwan

'Okay, fine'—jihoon

'You know me. I always ruin everything.  So, I’m not going.  It’s Jeongwoo’s flight tomorrow, so I'll just take her to the airport tomorrow to say goodbye to him properly.'—junghwan

'That's a good plan though.' —jihoon

JEONGWOO

Today was the last day I would see her.
I wanted to see her happy and make this day the best day for both of us.
"I’ll be making a group chat," Doyoung said.
After that, I opened my phone, and Doyoung already sent all our pictures from here.

After eating, we started to leave the restaurant.
Doyoung and Jihye left together, and so did Jihoon.
"Let's go to the fair," I said.
"Sure," Cindy said, her eyes filled with excitement.
"It's been a while since I've been to a fair.  My dad always took me there," she added, still smiling.

After a while, we arrived at the fair.
We went inside, and she asked me to take a selfie.
I was so happy to see her smiling. She'd been crying for the past three days because of what happened to her mom.

We started playing games, and we won some stuffed toys.
I noticed that she wasn't with me, so I tried to find her.  I was a bit worried; what if something happened to her?
And then I found her at one of the stalls buying a cotton candy.
She bought two cotton candies.

Cindy saw me and walked closer.
"Here," she said, handing me the green cotton candy, and I hugged her.
"Hey, Jeongwoo, people were staring at us," she whispered.
"I don't care. Just don't do it again. You scared me," I said.
"Okay, my love," she said, chuckling.

I decided to take her back home.
As we got out of the car, I kissed her forehead.
"Goodbye. I love you, my love."
"Good night, my love," she said.

This was the most beautiful and painful day of my life. This would be my last goodbye to her.
I got back in the car, and the driver started to drive.
I started to cry inside, looking at the pictures we had taken earlier.

Cindy

This day was such a beautiful day for me.
I got ready for bed. I took a bath and went into my room.
I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.  This was the most beautiful day of my life.

THE NEXT DAY

I didn't feel like doing anything today, so I just laid on my bed.
I got hungry, so I went downstairs.
No one was going to cook for me. Every morning when I woke up, I always saw our table ready with food that my mom had cooked.
Maybe I just needed to get used to this.

I opened the fridge and grabbed some eggs.
I started to cook rice.
After that, I beat the eggs and added a bit of salt.
I was trying to make an omelet. I hoped it wouldn't be too salty or tasteless because whenever I cooked, it was always salty, tasteless, burnt, or raw.
Yeah, that's right. I don't have much talent in the kitchen.

After a few minutes, I was done cooking.
"This is so disappointing, Cindy," I whispered to myself.
The omelet didn't have any flavor. So I just added some soy sauce.
"Okay, that's a bit better."

After that, I turned on the TV.
It was already lunchtime. I had been laying in bed for too long.

SEVERAL HOURS PASSED

It was already 8 p.m. I hadn't noticed the time because I was just laying on the sofa and watching television.

I started to get ready for bed.
I didn't really feel like doing anything.
I took a bath, brushed my teeth, and went to my room.
I lay down, turned off the lights, and closed my eyes.
