Chapter five

"Cindy, will you be my girlfriend?" Jeongwoo asked, now that Junghwan was gone.
"But if you need time to think about it, I'll wait. If not, let's just still be friends, and keep the necklace— it's yours," he added.
"I'll think about it, Jeongwoo," I simply answered.

Silence filled the space for several minutes.  Finally, he spoke.
"Just gonna ask this, it's a nonsense question. Do you have something you'll never forget?" He asked, trying to break the silence and the awkwardness.
I had flashbacks of my childhood.
"Oh, yeah... I have this, not so called friend, and he pushed me into my birthday cake on my sixth birthday, haha. It was so embarrassing." I answered while laughing.
"Ohhh, that's really embarrassing. Where is he now?" He asked.

"I don't know where he is, and I don't know his name. Our fathers are friends, that's how we always met. I just know he's one year older than me but we were in the same grade at that time. What about you?"

"When Jihoon, Doyoung, Junghwan and I were in junior high, we were having a bet, but Doyoung and Jihoon lost. Afterward, Junghwan and I decided to give them a dare," he said.
"What kind of dare did you give them?"
"We made them dance in the middle of the class."
"Did they dance?"
"Yeah, because they have faces thicker than a book." he said while laughing.
"Then what happened next?" I asked, also laughing.
"After that, the four of us got detention." He answered.
"So the four of you are really close, right?"

"We were before, but everything just changed."
We were just talking the whole time and didn't realize how long we'd been there. It was almost midnight.
"I think we should go back, Cindy. I think they're starting the coronation." Jeongwoo said.
"I think Jihye will be the one who will be prom queen," I said.
"For me, it's you," Jeongwoo said.
"But it's for you," I said.

After that, we got back to the event.
"Jeongwoo, Cindy, where did you two go?"
"It's a secret, mister Kim Doyoung," Jeongwoo teased Doyoung.
"Wait, what just happened? Wait, are you two together now? Wow, Jeongwoo, it's like you've been ahead of me," Doyoung teased back.
"Not yet, men, but maybe soon," Jeongwoo said, which made me blush a bit.
"Cindy, you're the prom queen now." Jihye screamed at us, we hadn't noticed anything because we were too busy chatting while she was listening to the announcement.
"W-what? Me?" I pointed my fingers at myself.

"Yeah, it's you," She seemed excited.
So I came forward, feeling so awkward.
After that, the king was announced. I was hoping it would be Jeongwoo, but it wasn't.
"Yoshinori Kanemoto."
Who was it? After that, he came forward.
After they played the music and let the two of us dance, it felt really awkward. He looked nice, and he's also handsome, I admit it.
After that, I went back to my seat and noticed Sohee was coming near me. She threw a beverage at me.
But I just didn't react, I was too shocked.
Instead, Jihye was the one who reacted.
"What the hell is your problem?" Jihye said, standing up.
"I must be the one who should be there!" She answered, grabbing Jihye's hair.
Jihye also pulled Sohee's hair. This was such a mess. Doyoung tried to pull them apart, then Yoshinori came and helped.

JIHOON

I was about to help Doyoung when that Yoshinori, whatever his name is, showed up too. I felt something strange. I was so jealous, was it because of Jihye or because of Sohee? Ugh, Junghwan, that crazy jerk who keeps shipping me with that brat. The two of them couldn't pull the girls apart, so I helped too. And we finally managed to separate them.
"Oh no, Jihye, what if you get suspended because of this?" Cindy asked Jihye.
"Well, I don't care, she's just too much," Jihye replied.
"No one's gonna get a suspension," Junghwan said.
"Jihoon, let's talk," he said with a smirk.

"Hey, guys, what was that?" Junghwan asked.
"What do you mean 'what'?"
"Oh, guys, are you jealous because of Jihye and Doyoung or because Yoshinori helped Sohee?"
"Do you really want to die now? But what happened to you earlier, you looked upset."
"It's because of Jeongwoo and Cindy, they're together now."
"Now, what's your plan?"
"Nothing, I don't want to ruin anything again."
"Oh, really, is that because she looks like your friend?"
"Yeah, I always bullied that girl before, so what if she really is Cindy? I won't ruin her life anymore."
"Ok, if that's the case, then stop shipping me with Sohee." I pointed my finger at Junghwan.

CINDY

After all that trouble, Jeongwoo took me back to our house.
Mom was still awake. Jeongwoo immediately went inside.
"How was your day, sweetie?" Mom asked.
"It was fun, Mom, and I also became prom queen."
"Oh, that's great, sweetie."
"Mom, I have something to ask."
"What is it?"
"Is it ok with you if I have a boyfriend?"
"Yeah, it's completely fine with me, why? Did Jeongwoo ask you to be his girlfriend?" Mom teased me.
"Ahh, Eomma, ok, let's just sleep now, Mom."
"Ok, sweetie. You have to rest."

THE NEXT DAY

I was looking for Jeongwoo everywhere, but I hadn't seen him.
"Doyoung, do you know where Jeongwoo is?"
"If you can't find Jeongwoo anywhere, try finding him at the music room, he's always there."
"Oh, ok, Doyoung."
As I opened the door to the music room, I saw Jeongwoo playing the piano and singing. I found it so attractive.
I had been thinking about what I should answer Jeongwoo about his question yesterday, and finally, I decided to be his girlfriend, so I had to tell him.
Since I knew the song he was singing, I sang along with him too. His voice was so beautiful. And I sat beside him.
"I didn't know you could sing so well, and you're so good at playing the piano."
"So you find that attractive then? Haha, just kidding. So, do you have an answer about yesterday? Oh, sorry, I think I'm just rushing, I'll just wait for-"
"It's a yes."
"Hmm? Really, did I hear that right?"
"I said it's a yes!"
After saying that, he caressed my cheek and leaned in and kissed me on my lips. Wasn't this so fast?
