***Still Pragyan's POV:***:
In the next few days, I felt more and more drained, and it was seriously ticking me off. Was I exhausted from late-night studying or all this breakup drama? Who knows, but I was not feeling it.
And then, of course, my mind drifted to Kiran. I bet she turned into one of those over-the-top, party-all-night types, right? Ugh, thinking about it made me boil with anger. She was going to get an earful from me when I got back, that's for sure. Didn't she realize her late nights and tiredness made me tired too? But hey, if she hadn't gone all Barbie doll on us before we left, maybe I wouldn't have had to break her heart like that. But you know what? She totally deserved it, right?
*Subconscious mind*: Dude, where's all this rage coming from? You do realize she was head over heels for you, right? She tried to dress up to impress you.
"Yeah, but... I never asked her to change," I fired back in my mind. "I liked her just the way she was. It's toxic when someone changes for you."
*Subconscious mind*: All she did was spruce up her style a bit. Okay, maybe the heels and makeup were a bit extra, but she never pretended to be someone else. You, on the other hand, did change, Pragyan. You talked smack about her and broke up over some petty stuff. That's on you.
"Okay, okay, I'm not ready for this deep conversation right now," I muttered, feeling a mix of frustration and guilt. "I just wish she'd drop this fake act she's putting on now. Because if she keeps it up, I swear, I'll go full Godzilla on her."
*Subconscious mind*: Well, I have this feeling... she might've changed too. Just a gut feeling, you know?
I rolled my eyes at my subconscious, feeling like it was mocking me. "Oh, great, so we both changed? Fantastic," I grumbled to myself, flopping back on my bed. "But you know what? I miss the old Kiran. The one who laughed at my stupid jokes and didn't give a damn about impressing anyone. The real Kiran."
As I lay there, staring at the ceiling, I couldn't help but wonder if there was a chance she missed the old me too. Maybe, just maybe, there was a flicker of hope buried under all this teenage drama and stubbornness.
**Kiran's POV**:
I've been drowning lately. Not in water, but in books. Yeah, you heard that right. The piles of books around me in the library at midnight are starting to feel like my new reality. To be honest, I've finished my homework and even read some reference books for the tests coming up in the next few months. Let's just say I've covered half a year's syllabus in maths and medicine. I'm practically the next Hermione Granger, minus the DA and Harry and Ron.
But seriously, the library has become my second home after the combat room. My dorm? Oh, that's just for sleeping. And speaking of sleeping, I've decided to hold a grudge against my roommate, Madhav. The poor guy is terrified of me now. Why? Well, let's just say my book-throwing skills and my habit of breaking out into spontaneous, off-key singing sessions have made an impression.
The other day, he tried to prank me by hiding my favorite pen. Big mistake. I launched a full-scale search operation and found it hidden under his pillow. The look on his face was priceless! Now, whenever he tries to sneak up on me, I give him the death stare until he backs off.
Madhav's become my unintentional study buddy, mostly because he's too scared to leave the room while I'm in my study mode. I caught him the other day, trying to sneak out for a midnight snack. "Ah-ha! Gotcha!" I exclaimed, pointing dramatically at him. He nearly jumped out of his skin and ran back to his desk, muttering apologies.
