Mariam doesn't know how much time has passed. The night is falling because the cold has started to increase and she no longer feels the usual warmth that the sun gives off on her skin.
The amount of blood she lost from the wound on his shoulder is high. She feels lucky that the smell of her blood didn't attract some predator. Her eyes are getting heavier and heavier, she knows she can't move. The feeling of being useless due to her blindness returns and she feels like she is sucked into a spiral of anxiety and fear.
Mariam feels cold, very cold and the lost blood freezes on her shoulders and chest.
She has not tried to move one metre, and where would she like to go anyway? Her tears now turned into a thin, frizzy layer on her cheeks.
"Vladimir, where are you? You found me right away the first time..." her words end in emptiness and a cloud comes out of her mouth. Is it possible that Yuri's plan worked?
Every sound makes her shiver with fear, her anxiety growing by the second.
Then a different noise than usual in the distance. She immediately remains silent for fear that it is an animal who finally came to feed, an easy prey unable to move.

Vladimir and his soldiers brake the vehicle as soon as they notice footprints left by the wheels of a pickup truck. Andrei notices that there are piles of shoes, he follows them and sees a hike going down into the thick of the forest.
" Командир! Следы оказываются на этом утесе! (Commander! The footprints end up on this cliff!)" he says in a hurry.
For a moment Vladimir is paralyzed by the possibility that Mariam was killed and thrown over the cliff. But as soon as he recovers his gaze lights up " Давай, нам нужно выходить! (Move, we have to get down!)"
As soon as he reaches the bottom of the cliff he looks around for a clue, for anything that might lead him to Mariam.
"Mariam! Mariam, where are you!?" he yell out.
Mariam hears a voice, when she opens her eyes she feels dizzy. She doesn't understand what the voice is saying but when she feels it getting closer she starts screaming with all her might "Помогите, помогите! (Help, help!)"
Vladimir immediately turns his head towards where the voice forms. The soldiers run towards that direction.
Once Vladimir arrives he immediately sees Mariam lying on the ground and covered in blood from the wound on her shoulder and notices how pale she looks.
"Моя любовь! Я нашел тебя! (My love! I found you!)" he says while inspect her wound. Mariam opens her eyes and raises her hand to touch Vladimir's face.
"Is that you? Is that really you?" he grabs her hand "Yes it's me. I'll take you home, you're safe now."
Mariam closes her eyes hoping that this is not a hallucination.
When she wakes up she feels that her body is leaning on something soft.
Vladimir notices that she has woken up and immediately takes her hand, making her jump. "You're awake my love."
"Vladimir is that really you?! You found me!"
"I promise I'll never let anything like this happen again. I won't let anyone hurt you again... I... I..." he repeats in despair.
"Yuri, Yuri abandoned me in that..." he puts a finger over my mouth "Shh shh, I know. I know everything." his tone of voice changes and the Commander everyone fears returns.
