Rose'paw settled down with a slim squirrel next to Night'paw. She slumped a little lower; she got comfy.
"Dusted'paw, huh?" Night'paw sighed.
"Mhm! Just Feather'paw's new buddy," She slumped a little lower.
She added, "I think she's more close to him than to us now,"
"Yup," Night'paw said; she took another bite of her sparrow, "I never thought the two of them were actually together. I thought she was just joking when she told us,"
"Yeah — Dusted'paw is, uh, different," She laughed.
The two both laughed. Once it died down silence filled up the air. They both ate their fresh-kill quietly. Rose'paw felt the effects of her lack of sleep now. What if Mist'paw did leave them for Dusted'paw?
"At least we'll always have each other," Night'paw meowed; she looked Rose'paw straight in the eyes. Soft brown ones meeting with her bright blue ones.
She nodded quickly. "Duh! Since when would we not have each other? I'm sure in like a past life or something that we were actual sisters,"
"Ooh," Night'paw's eyes brightened, "or a cat with two heads! I'd be the left one, and you'd be the right one,"
Rose'paw laughed, "Nah, I'd rather be the left one, and you'd be the right one,"
"No,"
"Yes,"
"No,"
"Yes,"
"No, no,"
"Yes, yes,"
"No, no, no, no,"
"Yes, yes, yes, yes,"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"Pfft, fine, what difference is there?" Night'paw gave up.
"A big one," Rose'paw shrugged; she bumped Night'paw with her shoulder."
"Left is more creative, and rare, right is just common," She added; her tone hinted at a tease.
Night'paw stuck her tongue out at Rose'paw. She did the same back.
"What if we were both left?" She asked.
Night'paw blinked at her, "I don't think it works like that, but sure,"
Rose'paw yawned. Now she was really tired. When she focused on an object, it made it split into two.
"Let's head back, I'm tired," She mumbled.
Night'paw got up and flicked her tail at her, "Sure, race there?"
Before she could respond, Night'paw had already darted off. She ran after her, but got into second place because of the delay.

As she laid curled up in her nest that night, she replayed that dream in her head. Rose'paw felt as though it was more than a dream. A warning.
