Y/n's eye lifted to observe König's hazel eyes, she couldn't tell if he was smirking or not. Ghost spoke up interrupting her thoughts. Ghost: "Alright get ready you lot, keep to the rooftops, and always be aware and ready... no hesitation, understood?"

König nodded his head as he looked up towards Ghost's direction. He quickly regained his focus and spoke to him quietly.

König: ".. yes sir, understood..."

He was ready for the upcoming deployment.. he was ready to make a successful operation. The deployment was something to keep his mind off of her nickname for now but he wanted to know as soon as possible what "anahera kaitiaki" meant..

Gaz, Soap nodded along. Price's voice went over the intercom "Stay safe kids, I'll keep an eye out, I've got your back..."

König heard Price's voice and he immediately recognized it. Price was his commanding officer so he was confident at his words. The helicopter slowly rose up in the air and started to speed up as the team prepared themselves for deployment.

Kiwi held out her hand for König to take, to ease their nerves, she gave his hand a gentle squeeze. "Be careful out there, König, I'll keep my sniper sights on you from afar, I'm your eyes...I've got you."

He felt his heart jump at the sudden squeeze of her hand.. he had noticed her hand reach out for his but hadn't expected her to be the first to take hold of his hand in the team.. as he gripped her hand back and their fingers intertwined, he felt his cheeks start to redden yet again. This is the second time she had made him blush.. he couldn't believe it..

Konig: ".. thank you.. I'll make sure to stay safe for you.. I'll make sure it's a successful deployment just for you.."

"Okay...thank you König, promise me my friend, you'll be okay?"

He squeezed her hand once more as his heart continued to beat faster and faster with each breath. She was being so considerate and worried about him. He couldn't handle it...his cheeks were starting to burn at her attention and care.

König: ".. I promise you I'll stay safe.. I'll be okay.. don't worry.."

He chuckled softly as he replied back and squeezed her hand one more time before speaking.

König: ".. hey Kiwi?"

"Yeah?" She whispered.

He was hesitant to speak these words but he felt like he should.. she was already worried about him and he felt like she should know this as well.

König: ".. just to let you know, I... I.... I..."

She listened intently not wanting to miss a word he said.

After a few more hesitations and breaths he finally spoke the words he had been wanting to tell her before.

König: ".. if anything happens to me.. I just wanted to let you know... I.. I..."

There was another pause as he struggled to say these words.. he felt her hand wrapped around his and he held her hand tightly as he whispered.

König: ".. I...I..."

he couldn't seem to get this next word out and his heart was beating at a high rate... he didn't know why it was so hard to just say it..

König: ".. can... can I just.."

She nodded her head, "Do what you have to do..."

He took another deep breath as he squeezed her hand a little tighter before finally saying these words that were difficult to say in the first place.
