3rd POV

With all the words of protests and retaliations from his co-workers, the brunet still left without bothering to leave a brief explanation as to why he's going to his obviously unsaid destination.

Almost everyone took a deep breathe and had a moment of dreaded silence. The youngsters particularly were eyeing at each other unsure of what to do to calm the raging souls of the adults. (With the exception of the munching detective who was enjoying his box of manju that came from none other than his so-called 'partner').

The agency doctor, having had enough of the suicidal maniac's usual antics put a dissatisfied face and placed both hands on her hips.

"There he goes, leaving us again in the middle of a very important conversation!" Yosano disdainfully remarked as she narrowed her eyes and pointed her finger at the idealist. "Kunikida, you better put that hand cuffs to good use and glue that good-for-nothing by your side!"

"But hand cuffs are for catching criminals, sensei." The uptight detective reasoned out.

"Exactly, my point! Who do you think Dazai was?" The lady doctor deadpanned and rolled her eyes.

The former math teacher just shook his head and heaved a very long sigh. He seriously think that dealing with his fellow members will eventually shorten the remaining years of his life.

Seeing the distressed expression of the blond megane, the weretiger timidly asked the most pressing question. "Sorry, but--is Dazai-san going to visit the Port Mafia?"

"Very interesting question. The answer is crystal clear." The greatest detective gave the reply.

The silver-haired scrunched his nose and posed for one more concerning matter. "Should we be notifying Fukuzawa-san right now? Our temporary alliance stands still but trespassing to their territory clearly invites death."

The food lover shrugged his shoulders. "Relax, Atsushi. Your mentor is an ex mafia that held one of the PM top executives' spot. He'll be fine."

"How can you said that, Ranpo-san? The situation is different. Dazai-san can't stand alone towards the deadly troops of the Port Mafia." The anxious tiger couldn't help but frowned.

Yosano waved her hands dismissively. "Let's stop concerning ourselves with that lunatic and just resume the discussion. I'll preside over the meeting this time."

The mantiger couldn't pursue the subject of 'rescue' and was forced then to back down. Kyouka and the rest of the youngsters gave him a sympathetic smile.

"Do we still have another matter to discuss?" The munching detective asked lazily.

"Of course! I've been thinking about the human puppet of that Spanish ventriloquist ever since our last battle...and it suddenly struck me that I've seen a young kid who had an uncanny resemblance!"

Having attracted his attention, Ranpo first made his inquiry. "When and where was that, sensei?"

"At the hospital when I happened to meet the mafia executive. "

"Have you seen any accomplice?"

"The human puppet was with an old lady." The bob-haired lady paused for a while, thinking deeply. She then continued. "The memory left an impression because even though the woman happened to be in an age past seventies, she had a straight posture and had a firm and light steps. As for the 'kid', his expression was doll-like. No sign of emotions at all."

"There's two things that I could get from your story." The greatest detective took a moment before he made his assumption. "There's a possibility that Senor Wences was that old woman in disguise and it could also be not such a coincidence that they were there for Mr. Fancy Hat. "
