A/N: Updates will take longer. But I hope this will suffice for now.

3rd POV

After the formal introduction, the brunet finally met the first key that will (possibly) open the door to his unanswered plea.

The three personages now occupied the dim lit wide office. They were seated across each other, forming almost an invisible perfect triangle.

Kouyou was specifically instructed to wait outside the door and remained there until further notice. The redhead lady, without any objection, silently left the room and excused herself.

It was evident that the topic of discussion is highly classified that even a top rank executive was excluded. This occasion was very rare to happen. But since it was given by the leader of the Port Mafia, there was no room for argument.

Mori was on his signature dark red mahogany chair, with his gloved hands interlaced, placed on his lap. Staring at his two honorable guests, there's a glint of amusement clearly reflected in those pair of amethyst eyes.

The raven-haired found an enjoyment in the antagonistic atmosphere that's been imposed by the opposing parties.

The two occupants in the doctor's office, who for the time being and the sake of civility, still chose to be discreet with each other. Both may not be verbalizing their real intention to one another, but the desire to hunt and kill is apparent in their bloodlust eyes.

The young prodigy was definitely not going to let the opportunity slips away. By hook or by crook, the renewed executive needs to hear a solid answer. As much as he doesn't want to admit, it's been taking too long for him to find one single ginger. (And it's not doing anymore good to his emotional state and mental being.)

His penetrating gaze was solely focused on the person in front of him, examining him closely, observing every subtle actions and of course racking his brain on what plausible course of action to take.

Based from the nonchalant character the man portrays, the Demon Prodigy may need to devise an effective and unique way of interrogating his soon-to-be captive. It turns out that he needs to repolish his skill once again.

The former detective looked at the man with scrutiny. The person he's paying attention was comfortably seated on a couch with his leg over the other. His clasped hands were delicately placed on his knee while his eyes marveled on the intricate and sophisticated designs of the office.

Those wondering eyes met with those inquisitive hazelnut orbs. "Are you perhaps torturing me already inside that Einstein brain of yours, Mr. Detective?"

Dazai's trail of thought got interrupted by the abrupt statement. He tilted his head at his questioner.

"Do forgive me, senor. I zoned out for a little bit." A dark smile slowly formed on his lips. "But I was not in the level of torturing yet. In fact at this very moment, I'm still in the process of carefully choosing the question to ask that will give me a satisfactory answer."

The ventriloquist's eyes gleamed with a mixture of surprise and astonishment. He momentarily nodded his head as a sign of approval and made a pleasant hum. "I like your frankness. An honest man is not easier to find these days." Centeno rubbed his thumb on his chin and looked straight at the brunet. "Say, do you plan to change your line of work in the future?"

"He just did." A haste response came from the Port Mafia Boss. "He came back to redeem his position as my right-hand man and my youngest executive."

"Oh." The master puppeteer made a disappointed face. "You have beaten me right into it, my dear doctor."

The leader of the deadliest organization made a triumphant smile. "I couldn't miss this once in a lifetime chance. I've been convincing Dazai-kun for six years. More so, he's the person who is qualify to be my successor."

"I already refused back then. I won't take over the position, Mori-sensei. That's not the reason why I came back." The brunet stated flatly.

A mischievous grin spread over the lips of the Spanish. "Ah! Then I still have a fair chance to recruit him."

"I'll consider the offer in the very near future. I do wish to meet the man who heads your organization. " The youngest executive's replied with unreadable expression, making his true motive concealed.

"I'll take your word for it!" The Spanish snapped his fingers with good humor and delightedly stated.

Seeing the unexpected development with the two newly acquianted individuals in the room, the raven-haired couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow and glanced warily at his pupil. "Dazai-kun, I trust that the future you just stated won't arrive a matter of days or weeks. I don't want to lose my favorite executive soon." Mori reminded.

"As long as I can achieve my goal, I don't mind taking the short courses." The Demon Prodigy just delivered a cryptic message that sent the two dealers to highly reconsider the best end of their bargains.

An eeriely silence prevailed for a while before the renowned ventriloquist broke the dead atmosphere. "Something's telling me that I haven't heard the full story yet. Pray tell me gentlemen why I was disturbed in my 'peaceful' chamber."

"I believe my executive will do the honor to brief you, Señor." The PM Boss, true to his sadistic nature, grinned wickedly enjoying the unexpected turn of event. He was looking forward on how his genius protege would lured the puppeteer into the snake pit.

"I wish to inform you that towards this moment, your life will be in my hands. Simply to say, I take you as my prisoner." The brunet stated with much indifference that made his inquirer stilled and looked at the young man flabbergasted.

"I--I beg your pardon, Mr. Detective. Surely, you are jesting." Moreno casted a furtive glance at the raven-haired direction. "This vital piece of information was not discussed by Doctor Mori."

"The man you have struck a deal with is the shrewdest person you will ever met."The Demon Prodigy waved his hand nonchalantly in the air and met the baffled countenance of his found captive. "He's the leader of the deadliest mafia organization in Yokohama. You don't take chances with your enemy."

"For once I thought that aside from his twisted way of  recruiting people, he's just a rotten old man who takes weird fancies on little girls. I have judged poorly."

The Boss of the Port coughed twice from the blunt insults he just heard. "I didn't expect that from the very first meeting, you two could blend so well when it comes to harassing a person."

The adjudicators, however, responded in different manners.

A devilish smirk graced the lips of the youngest executive. "Mine is a compliment, Boss." The brunet haughtily stated with a hint of mockery.

"It was merely an impression on my part. I did say, I give terrible opinions to others. Don't take it too hard." The puppeteer, to his defense, coolly supplemented.

"A well-thought argument."The doctor's vicious eyes enveloped a tint of dark shades, his thin lips displayed a diabolical smile. "Brushing aside your personal issues, I want to hear your thoughts on my former executive. He knows a lot of secrets of the organization. I can't just let him be."
