AN: Sooooooooooooo.......... Don't be angry at me, but there's a whole lot of angst and draaammmmaaaaa coming later on!!!!! Sorry... LOL not really sorry. Thanks for sticking it out through the bad writing and the semi-bad plot line. The Bilger ship song is above!
Anne poked at her breakfast. It was the day. The day she would face her fear. The day she would visit Caleb in jail. She couldn't stand it anymore; the nightmares were too much. Every night she would wake up screaming and Jarod would wrap his arms around her and comfort her as best as he could. She could still hear him taunting her. She could still feel the cold blade in her side. She would see the scars as permanent reminders of not only the pain he caused her, but also of how much has changed. How strong she's become. Strong enough to face him just one more time. She felt a hand lovingly touch her face and she looked up. Jarod's chocolate eyes looked at her with worry.
"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you? I can skip my first two periods." His eyes searched her's. She smiled reassuringly.
"Yeah. I need to do this alone; I need closure. Oh! It's time for you to go unless you want to be late for first hour." He sighed.
"Yeah, Clarke will have my ass if I'm late."
"Yeah. So leave now if you want to keep your tush!" She impatiently pulled him out of his chair. The legs squeaked against the tile. He chuckled as she walked him to the door.
"You really don't curse do you?" She shook her head and they laughed. He cupped her cheek.
"Anne, are you sure you'll be alright?"
"Yeah. I'll see you third hour okay?" Nodding, he bent down and placed his lips on her's. The kiss was sweet and tender and he brushed their noses together as they pulled apart. Butterflies filled her stomach. They had been dating about three weeks, yet he still had this affect on her.
"Bye. I'll see you tomorrow. Have fun at Christina's house tonight," he whispered and walked away. She waved at his car until he disappeared from sight completely. Sighing, she shuffled up the stairs and took a warm shower. She slowly shimmied into a pair of dark skinny jeans and slipped on a short-sleeved crop-top to reveal her scars. She would show him she moved on. She was stronger now and she would not let that bastard win. She couldn't. Anne slung her bag over her shoulder. Okay, this is it.
*break*
Anne tried to calm her nerves as she stepped out of her mint green buggie. She clasped her hands together, trying to stop the shaking. She was led by a guard into a visiting room. Caleb sat on the other side of the glass. She deeply breathed and plucked the phone off its hook. He licked his chapped lips.
"Anne! You visited."
"Yes. I have a question, and you sure as hell are gonna give me an answer."
"Ooooh! Hell. Anne, I see you're cursing now. Is it because of me? I'm proud. I've changed you!"
"Hell is a place. I do not curse and you mean nothing to me."
"And yet you came to see me. Miss me?" She ignored him.
"Why? Why did you try to kill me?" He cackled and rolled his neck.
"Oh Anne," he trailed his dirty fingernail up and down the glass and looked her up and down hungrily, "the things I would do if this wasn't in the way." She looked disgustedly at him.
