Ch. 11 The Lunar Sea Spire

Diana stood alone in the strawberry fields. She had her eyes covered with a blindfold. Her hands tightly grasped her newest weapons: pink dual swords.

Diana's senses heightened as she smelled the sweet scent of strawberries and heard birds' wings flapping as they flew by. Her forehead twitched as footsteps ran to her right, but they stopped.

' My enemy must be above me,' Diana internally says.

The wind blew, sending shivers all over Diana's body. She turned to the right and blocked her enemy's fist with her dual blades.

" Your sensory skills have improved, Diana," She heard a familiar voice say.

Diana took off her blindfold and smiled when she saw Garnet looking at her.

" I have the best teacher ever," She says.

Garnet affectionately ruffled Diana's long, wavy pink hair.

" Let's get going. It's almost lunchtime for you," She says.

Diana nodded as she and Garnet disappeared and reappeared at the Crystal Temple.

" Hey, Diana! How was the training?" Amethyst asked, sitting on the couch in the living room with the TV on in the background.

" It went well. Garnet says that my sensory skills are improving, and I am getting better at using these dual swords that Pearl found for me to use," Diana gently pats the dual swords on their holsters.

" I'm glad your fighting skills are improving, Diana. Here, lunch is ready," Pearl says, waving at them from the kitchen.

" Where's Steven?" Diana looked at her surroundings and noticed Steven wasn't in the house.

" Steven is waiting for the postman. He said something about getting something for his upcoming magical adventures," Amethyst responded.

Diana looked at the Crystal Gems worryingly.

" Are we really taking Steven on Gem missions?" Diana asked, entering the kitchen and sitting down at the dining table.

" The boy needs to learn how to harness his gem powers," Pearl said, placing a plate of food before Diana.

Diana grabs the fork and looks at her food worryingly.

" We will be with him every step of the way like we were with you," Garnet tells Diana.

" I know. It still feels weird knowing that Steven will soon start on his first Gem mission," Diana murmured while taking a bite of her food.

" And besides, you were younger than Steven when we took you on your first Gem mission," Amethyst sat down to Diana's right.

Diana nodded, remembering she was ten when the Crystal Gems took her to her first Gem mission in the summer.

" That's because Rose wanted Diana to start her training as soon as possible when she activated her Gem," Pearl takes a bite of her toast.
