"Control" by Halsey

Minho woke up as usual, startled by his nightmares. He had been having them for months, and they always ended the same way.

With her dead. With everything destroyed.

With his breath still racing, he looked around. Minho's room was a simple reflection of his social status; there wasn't a single thing in that room that showed a bit of his personality. The furniture was all in black, gray, and white tones. And he said that's how his life was at the moment.

On either side of the bed, nightstands held black glass table lamps, whose warm light was the only thing illuminating the room at that moment.

A large black glass desk occupied one corner of the room. There was only a computer and a framed photo on it.

In another corner, an entertainment area was equipped with a high-definition TV screen, surrounded by black shelves full of books and a leather sofa in the center. His favorite area.

On the opposite side of the room, a built-in wardrobe with black sliding doors and different sections for Minho's clothes. Suits, shoes, watches, ties...

Minho shook his head and turned to grab the glass of water from his nightstand. Just as he picked up the glass, someone knocked on his door.

"Who is it?" he asked.

"Felix..." his brother said from the other side of the door.

"Come in."

As he opened it, a sleepy-faced Felix entered the room. He was wearing his white satin pajamas and had messy blonde hair.

"Did you dream about it again?" he said as he sat next to Minho.

"Yes... I don't know why I have to see the same thing over and over again. It feels like some sort of punishment sent by the devil or something."

Felix laughed and hugged his brother, whom he treated as if he were the younger one in situations like this.

"Hyung, don't you think you should go to...?"

"No. Felix, I'm not going to therapy. I'm not wasting my time and money just to be told that it will pass with time and that it's trauma-induced, because I already know that."

"Um, okay. I think you should try to get some more sleep. Classes start tomorrow."

"Yeah, I'll try."

"Goodnight, Hyung."

"Goodnight, Lix."

Minho clearly hadn't managed to fall back asleep; he simply decided to stay awake until it was time to leave.

He was reading The Hunger Games, his favorite book of all time. His mother gave it to him when he turned 16, and since then, he still treasures it.

Knock, knock, knock!!

"Mr. Lee, breakfast is on the table," Diana, the maid, informed him.

"I'll be down in ten minutes!"

Minho got up from his bed and headed to the closet where his uniform was hanging, carefully ironed. The uniform consisted of a navy blue suit, tie, and sweater, with white details, and a white button-up shirt.

He dressed with great patience, put on his shoes, ran his hands through his blonde hair, grabbed his briefcase, which only contained his computer, a notebook, and a pen, and finally left his room.

After descending the grand staircase, he headed to the dining room where his father and Felix were already having breakfast.

"Father," he said, bowing at the same time.

"Minho, are you going to have breakfast with us today? Or are you just going to wait for Felix to finish to leave without eating anything as you always do?" Mr Lee asked.

"I'm not hungry, father."

"Alright then."

The freckled boy simply watched his older brother, who was tense and very impatiently waiting for him to finish.

"Father, with your permission, I have finished and I don't want Minho to have to wait for so long," the younger one informed.

"Okay, just be careful. I don't want to get a call saying that one of you has had an accident. I know Chan is responsible, but you never know what might happen."

Mr Lee got up and hugged Felix first, and then, although he wasn't very happy about it, he hugged Minho. After all, no matter how bad things were between them, Minho was his son, and that will always be more important than anything.

The Lee brothers then left the grand mansion, and just as they closed the gate, Chan arrived in his freshly driven BMW.

"COME ON LITTLE BROTHERS, GET IN!" a smiling Chan shouted from inside the car, and both Felix and Minho laughed before getting into the vehicle.

"Shhh, Chan, don't shout so much, you'll give me a headache," Jeongin told him.

"Sorry kiddo," Chan responded, tousling his hair. "I'm just so happy. New school year, new car, new people..."

"Ugh, you and your obsession with socializing," Felix complained.

"There's nothing wrong with that, I'm sure someone interesting will come this year."

The other three boys just shook their heads, and the oldest began to drive with a smile from ear to ear.

Chan parked in the large campus parking lot, and the four boys got out and started walking toward the university entrance. As they walked, Minho would be lying if he said all the girls weren't staring at them in awe. But the truth was, he didn't care in the slightest; he knew how attractive he was, he just didn't say it all the time.

But if there was one person in particular who caught his attention, and not in a good way, it was the dark-haired boy leaning with crossed arms on the entrance wall, talking to three other boys and wearing the school uniform neatly and proudly.

"Can anyone tell me why the squirrel is at this uni?" Minho said.

"What squirrel?" Jeongin asked, looking towards where that boy was  "What are they doing here? Weren't the sons of Halo's businessmen supposed to go to the uni on the other side of the city?"

"What sons of...?" Felix asked.

And as they reached the stairs where the other four they had been talking about until then were, the brown-haired boy spoke:

"But look who it is!" the boy said approaching Minho, the other three that were with him doing the same "Hello, Minho."

"How's it going, Jisung?"
