"Hyunjin... Are you home?" Felix's voice trembled as he gripped his phone, trying to steady himself. He had called his boyfriend because he couldn't carry the weight of that morning's events alone. Everything felt wrong. The mansion, once grand and familiar, now felt like a hollow shell that echoed with emptiness and grief. It wasn't home anymore. It couldn't be.He couldn't stay there. The walls seemed to close in on him, the silence suffocating. So, without a word to anyone, Felix had grabbed his jacket and left. There was only one person he could think of, only one person whose presence could make the world feel less cold. Hyunjin. His love. His anchor.
But even as he walked through the streets, the morning sun offering little warmth, Felix struggled to process what had happened. Minho was gone. The only person who truly understood him in that house had been cast out—banished because he dared to love, dared to follow his heart. And now Felix was alone in a place that no longer felt like it could shelter him.
"Hyun..." Felix said when the other picked up.
"Felix? Baby, what happened?" Hyunjin's voice came through the line, gentle but laced with concern. He knew Felix too well—knew that something must be terribly wrong for him to call so early, his voice so strained.
Felix swallowed hard, trying to keep his emotions in check. "I'm not okay, Hyunjin, are you at your place?" he managed to say, his voice cracking despite his efforts.
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then Hyunjin spoke, his tone firmer now, but full of warmth. "I'm at my sister's house, but you can come over. Yeji wouldn't mind and she already loves you. Just get here, okay?"
Felix closed his eyes, letting Hyunjin's words wash over him like a balm to his wounded heart. The thought of seeing Hyunjin, of being wrapped in his arms, made the pain a little more bearable.
"I'm on my way," Felix whispered. His grip on the phone tightened as if holding onto Hyunjin's voice could somehow ground him in this moment.
He hung up, his steps quickening as he made his way to the only place that still felt like home—wherever Hyunjin was.
As Felix approached the house, every step felt heavier than the last. His mind was still spinning from the events of the morning, but the sight of Hyunjin waiting for him on the porch brought a sliver of relief. Hyunjin's eyes immediately softened when he saw him, and without hesitation, he crossed the distance between them, wrapping Felix in a firm, comforting embrace. Felix melted into him, feeling the tension begin to ease as Hyunjin's warmth enveloped him.
"Hey," Hyunjin whispered into his ear, his hand gently stroking Felix's back. "You're here now. You're safe."
Felix nodded against Hyunjin's shoulder, inhaling deeply. The familiar scent of Hyunjin's cologne, mixed with the crisp morning air, made Felix feel like he could finally breathe again. He held on tightly, not wanting to let go just yet. For a moment, the rest of the world could wait.
After a minute, Hyunjin pulled back just enough to look into Felix's eyes. "Come inside," he said softly. "There's someone very eager to meet you."
Felix managed a small, shaky smile as Hyunjin led him into the house. The moment he stepped inside, he felt the warmth of the place—a stark contrast to the cold, sterile mansion he had left behind. Yeji's house was full of life and light, with soft colors, cozy furniture, and a homely atmosphere that made him feel instantly at ease.
Before Felix could fully take in his surroundings, he heard a cheerful voice from the kitchen. "Hyunjin! Is that him? Is that Felix?"
Hyunjin chuckled, taking Felix's hand and guiding him toward the kitchen. "Yeah, it's him. Yeji, come say hi."
