FELIX AND HYUNJIN

The weekend sun filtered through the windows of Hyunjin's apartment, casting soft, lazy beams that seemed to invite relaxation. Felix had always enjoyed these slow Saturdays, especially when they were spent with Hyunjin. Their hangouts were comfortable and easy—usually filled with laughter, teasing, and the kind of silence that didn't feel awkward. Today, though, the air seemed different in a way that Felix couldn't quite pinpoint.

Felix and Hyunjin lounged on the couch, a nearly empty bag of chips between them, and a movie playing softly on the television. The plot had lost their attention halfway through, but neither had bothered to turn it off. Felix absentmindedly scrolled through his phone, occasionally chuckling at a meme or video, while Hyunjin had his sketchbook perched on his knees, pencil moving with practiced ease as he doodled.

"Check this one out," Felix said, his voice filled with laughter as he angled his phone toward Hyunjin.

Hyunjin glanced up from his sketchbook, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips as he saw the meme. "How do you find this stuff? Your sense of humor is something else, Felix."

Felix grinned, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Takes one to know one, Hyunjin."

Hyunjin chuckled, but the sound was softer than usual. His eyes lingered on Felix a little longer before returning to his sketch. He had been noticing these little things about Felix more and more lately—the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled, the way his laugh had this contagious warmth that made Hyunjin's chest flutter every time. And then there was that deeper stuff, like how Felix always seemed to find joy in the smallest things or how he could turn a dull moment into something bright and fun. That was Felix. His Felix.

It wasn't sudden, this realization that he liked Felix. No, it had been building for months now, ever since that night three months ago when they'd stayed up late talking about everything and nothing, and Hyunjin had looked at Felix and thought, I don't want this to end. Ever.

From then on, it was like his feelings had taken on a life of their own. The easy comfort they shared had started to feel more significant. Felix's touches lingered in his mind long after they happened, his smiles felt like they were meant just for him, and his laugh... God, that laugh. It drove Hyunjin crazy in the best way. He'd found himself replaying moments in his head over and over, imagining what it would be like if Felix felt the same.

But Hyunjin hadn't said anything yet. He wasn't sure if it was fear of rejection or if he just didn't want to risk losing what they already had. But today, with Felix sitting so close, the weight of those unspoken words felt heavier than ever.

The movie ended, but neither of them made a move to turn it off. Felix tossed his phone aside, stretching his arms above his head in a lazy, cat-like motion. "So, what now? Should we watch another movie, or are you up for something else?"

Hyunjin looked up from his sketchbook, meeting Felix's gaze. "How about a game?" he suggested with a slight smirk, leaning back on the couch. "But I should warn you, Lix, I'm in the mood to win today."

Felix chuckled, rolling his eyes playfully. "You're always in the mood to win. But sure, let's see if you can actually back that up."

As they set up the game, their playful banter continued, each trying to outdo the other with jokes and teasing remarks. For Hyunjin, this was familiar territory, but it was also an opportunity. He loved these moments with Felix, the way they could go from playful insults to comfortable silence in a heartbeat. But underneath it all, Hyunjin's mind was racing with thoughts of how close Felix was, how easy it would be to just... reach out and make a move.
