Ch.17

Cassie's POV like normal

"Hey Case, whatcha doin" I heard Calum ask from behind me coming through the door, It was a Wednesday afternoon and I was sitting outside on the porch swing, I was trying to finish a song I had been working on, yes I write songs but nobody know cos I don't think there any good.

"Uhh....n...nothing" I stutter out quickly shutting my song book and slipping it under the pillow next to me "Case? What were you doing?" Calum asks again clearly not believing me "nothing" I quickly reply "then what did you just put under the cushion?" He continues "nothing?" I say but it comes out like more of a question

Calum still doesn't believe but before I could stop him he reached under the cushion and grabbed my book "you write songs?" Calum asks reading what it says on the inside of the front page "please just give it back Calum?" I beg, but he just runs off with it I chase him through the house and down to the games room where everyone is,

"Cal please just give it back" I ask as everyone turns to look at us "what did he take?" Ashton asks from his position on the couch "my song book" I blurt out without thinking, great now they all know I write songs "you write songs?" Luke asks jumping up from the couch and snatching the book out of Calum's hands and opening it "Please Luke just give it back" I say but there not listening.

They all gather round Luke reading my newest song: here's to never growing up, the one I was trying to finish before "Cassie what didn't you tell us you write songs?" Ashton asks me "because there no good" I reply "now please give me MY book back" I say getting frustrated at them "sorry" Calum mumbles handing me my book "it's fine" I reply and turn and heading for the stairs I go upstairs and back outside to the porch swing.

I pick my pencil back up from where I left it and continue brainstorming ideas to finish the song, I hear the door open from behind me I turn slightly and see Calum I quickly turn back around, I'm a bit upset at Calum for taking my book, he should have respected my privacy and not ran off with it.

"Hey Cassie I'm really sorry I shouldn't have done that" Calum says walking over and sitting next to me "it's fine Cal" I reply wanting him to go so I could finish this song I've been working on it for like a month but couldn't finish it "I've been living with you for over 3 months, Case I can tell when your angry at me, and you have every right to be" Calum says "thanks for apologising Cal, your forgiven" I say and lean into him as he puts arm around me.

"Now that we know you write songs, can I see your book?" Calum asks leaning back a bit to look at my face "geez Cal, you have a one track mind don't ya?" I say laughing at him "yeah, so can I?" He asks "um sure, but there not that good" I say hesitantly "how many do you have?" Calum asks me as I reach over for my sing book "uh 10 maybe?" I say "there all done except the last one, I've been trying to finish it for like a month" I say and hand Calum the book.

He opens sit and reads through it turning the pages "how long have you been writing for?" He asks me his eyes not leaving the book "since I was about 13, I think" I say and he just nods and continues reading "your crazy talented!"' He says shutting the book "thanks Cal, it means a lot but there really not that good" I argue back "yeah they are this last ones my favourite" Calum says opening to the last page "mine to but I don't know how to finish it" I say "could I help?" Cal asks opening the book again "you don't have to Cal-" "I know I don't, I want to though" he says cutting me off "okay" I agree "okay" he repeats "were not in the fault in our stars Cal" I say laughing Cal realises what he said and starts laughing with me.

" I think it's done" Calum says about 45 mins later "yeah I think so" I had nearly finished the song already Calum just helped me with the last verse "do you want to sing it to the others" Calum asks me, and I bite my lip a nervous habit "will you sing it with me?" I ask "sure, if you want me to I would be honoured" Calum replies as we walk inside "I think there still downstairs" Calum says as we head for stairs "Cassie, are you okay, I'm sorry I read your book" Luke yells running over and engulfing me in a very tight hug "can't.. breath.." I say "sorry" Luke says releasing me from his death grip "I'm sorry, for reading your book" Luke repeats "it's okay Lukey, I'm sorry for storming out earlier guys" I say facing all the boys and Emily "it's fine, we should have respected your privacy" Zayn.
