Kajals scoffed with a blanket wrapped around her body to keep herself warm.
" How can someone do this?"
She said to herself with an angry frown on her forehead.
" It's my birthday and he chose not to show up? I will see him once he comes back. I won't let him kiss me for so many days. Hadh ho gyi ye to!"
She huffed. The clock hit 12.10 AM and her phone rang. She picked it up without glancing at the caller ID.
" Happy birthday, my love."
Kabir wished her lovingly. Kajal's anguish expression stayed plastered on face. Kabir realised she was angry when she did not say anything.
" I am sorry, baby. I am really busy."
Kajal chewed her lower lip. No matter what, she cannot stay angry at him for long. His voice always melts her.
" Whatever."
Kabir chuckled hearing her reply.
" I will come soon."
" What soon? You said this last time as well but took 1 more month to come. Do you even realise I can't celebrate my 1st birthday with you and I wonder if I'll be able to spend the new year with you."
Kabir sighed heavily as she let out her frustration in words.
" I am sorry, Biwi."
" Okay."
She replied in a tiny voice.
" Are you still angry?"
Kabir asked.
" Yes."
Kajal replied back. He smiled.
" Jab aayenge tab saara gussa utaar lijiyega, hmm?"
( Vent your anger on me when I come back.)
She suppressed her smile but failed.
" I know you are smiling."
She mentally chuckled then lay back on bed.
" Thand ka mausam hai aur humare paas aap hi nahi hai. Hume garam kon rakhega ab?"
( It's cold weather and you are not with me. Who will keep me warm?)
Kabir raised his eyebrows.
" I have bought you a teddy bear. Use that."
Kajal turns to the left side.
" No. I like you more. You are better than that teddy bear."
Kabir laughed from the other side.
" So you are comparing me with that fluffy thing?"
Kajal smiled.
" Absolutely no. Aap vo sab kar sakte hain jo vo bejaan cheez nahi kar sakti."
( You can do everything that lifeless thing can't.)
She is doing this intentionally and he is well aware of that. He cursed under his breath as wild imaginations rang into his mind.
" Bahut bolne lagi hain aap."
( You've started speaking a lot.)
He scolded her. She chuckled.
" Kyu? Bechain kar diya na humne aapko, Pati dev."
