Kabir cleared his throat to grab Rajveer's attention but he was busy playing with his toy car- ignoring him. He walked to him, and sat down beside him.

" Can I play-"

He turned in another direction and his back faced Kabir.

" Baba is sorry na, beta."

Kabir said and pecked his son's forehead.

" I had work."

" You always have. You never give us time. You did not even come to my birthday. You are bad baba. Bade-mamu never misses Dhara Jiji's birthday."

He complained, jealous of his cousin for receiving time from their fathers. Kabir sighed.

Tears streamed down from Rajveer's eyes but he quickly wiped it before saying.

" Mumma ne bhi daanta hume aapki vajah se."

( Mumma scolded me because of you.)

He cried while still playing with his toy car. Kabir sighed, lifted his son effortlessly and put him over his lap. Fortunately, Rajveer did not protest.

" What more complaints my prince has."

Rajveer hugged his father.

" You don't play with me."

Kabir pecked his forehead.

" Sorry, I always will."

" Mumma scolded me." Rajveer said and Kabir smiled,

" Mumma to hume bhi daanti hai, beta."

( Mumma scolds me too, son.)

And, Rajveer ended up giggling. Kabir wiped his tears and leaned his back on the bed and talked to his son.

" Did you see the presents I bought for you on your birthday?"

Rajveer nodded.

" I broke one toy."

Kabir hummed.

" I'll buy you more."

Rajveer smiled and moved his face back only to look up at his father.

" Baba."

" Hmm?"

He put his small hands on his beard.

" I want this too. I want to look like you."

He chuckled at his adorable wish.

" Pehle bade jo jao beta."

( First, grow up, son.)

Rajveer furrowed his eyebrows.

" Kitna?"

( How much?)

" Hamare jitne?"

( Like me?)

Rajveer nodded excitedly.

" Baba."

Kabir stood up with him in arms.

" Hmm, beta ji."

" Aap jitna bade hone me to time lagega."

( It will take time to grow up like you.)

Kabir smiled while descending the stairs.

" Vo to hai." he said.

( That's right.)
