Chapter 6. TRAPPED

So now he's punishing me because I didn't return his laptop on time Or is it because of what happened yesterday morning in the mall?!

If I knew he was gonna give me this work, I wouldn't have come that fast , I can't work now , I haven't even taken breakfast , let me take care of myself first , other things will come later!

"Sit down!" Mrs Henderson pushes me back on my seat as I was standing up! She throws a bunch of papers on my desk!

" This is the next client off which their wedding is taking place in three days , so these are actually your clients , you make sure everything is set on the third day , there's guidelines on those papers, their number and everything you'll need , every step you make bring it to me to verify so that you don't f*ck up anything." She walks away few steps and then comes back. "And by the way , this is not a punishment or something, it's just that on this month of December many people wed , and for that reason we have so many clients, and most of the time we gonna find ourselves working on one plan in person ! So do your best." She starts walking away again,  suddenly like I've unfrozen I speak.

"Mrs. Henderson, with all due respect, am not stupid. I know you're mad at me because of messing up this morning , but it wasn't intentional , I didn't do it on purpose! Am not working on this alone , I would rather quit this job, first of all , yesterday you threw work at me the second I arrived here , am not complaining because I saw the situation yesterday, but what irritated me is that you didn't give me even the slightest idea of what I was supposed to do ! So it's either you give me someone to work with or am quitting."

" Owh.. damn , so it actually worked, I mean, the whole point of this is for you to quit, because I can't have someone like you in my department!"

" Well , I just changed my mind , am not quitting if that's what you were planning to make me do." I say annoyingly walking away! What the f*ck is her problem with me?! It's like she didn't like me the very moment she saw me, but who cares!

I knock on his door for the second time today. " Yes?" His manly voice vibrates.

" Is this how you people treat your employees around here ? Like they are some kind of robots?!" My anger pours out of me .

" Am waiting for the work I gave you while you are here wasting time whining?!"

" You gotta talk to Mrs. Henderson, I can't work on one plan by myself , and to make it worse.. am new here!" Am a newbie , that's what they've been calling me , I don't know much , I didn't have an experience before I came here , and working on a plan, alone? It doesn't make sense , it is like I'll be working for everyone in this department! And am not doing that! I know better than being bullied.

" That is not my problem, I don't know how they work!" He says his head buried in the screen of his monitor.

" I just told you she asked me to.."

" I have a lot of work mr.wilson and listening to you is not one of them , so before I get someone to throw you out , get yourself out."

" Oh please.. don't Mr. Me,, you know what ? F*ck all this , am resigning!"

He smirks looking at me amusingly. "I knew it."

" You knew what?" I ask wondering what he's talking about.

" That you didn't read the papers you signed yesterday, I kind of knew you won't read it anyway."

" What are you talking about?" I ask even more confused because.. yeah, I remember I signed some papers but I might have done something so stupid by signing without reading.

"It was an agreement that you will work in this company for the rest of your life and because I have your documents and are all signed with your signature , you can't be allowed to work in another company for the rest of your life , unless I decide so , you can't take me anywhere because you signed that yourself. And you can't blame me either."

What the...?!   "You're kidding, right?!"

" You think I have time to joke around with you?! Now go back to work, and know that if you keep being stubborn and don't do what is expected of you , your salary will be cut out."

" You're so childish, you know that?!" I say feeling like crying but I won't do that infront of him!

"You should have known who you were messing with in that mall before you did  , and thanks to the heavens, I think they wanted me to punish you for your deeds that's why they made us meet again!"

" Seriously.. that small matter is what ha.."

" Go back to work Wilson  , am waiting for the documents I gave you and expecting them within the time I gave you , so stop wasting your time, and by the way ,, know that if you decide to resign.. I'll replace you with someone else and I won't take you back if you decide to come again because you can't have a job elsewhere, so think before acting."

I walk out, not sure of what to feel , like I've never been so out of words like I am right now. I walk straight to the cafe instead of going to work , a lot of work is waiting for me with limited time but I don't really care ,if he fires me , I'll just go back to my old life , my parents can't assume me for that long until they start helping me again , at least they know that I tried .

In the cafeteria, I order more than I should , I eat till my stomach couldn't take it anymore then I go back to my desk .
