Nova Swan {Embry Call}

Summer just ended and I passed my summer working at the diner and going out with my friends. I didn't see Jared much anymore he started hanging out with Sam and Paul. So it was Jacob, Quil, Embry and I kinda felt weird not having Jared hanging out with us anymore. I have to say I missed my arguments with Jared over who was the best at school but it is what it is. I got my driving license too over the summer and bought myself a used car it was grey Subaru Impreza. I love my car. School started again and Jared was barely there. Bella entered a deep depression after the Cullens left and she had nightmares that made it hard to sleep.

4 months later

Jared had came back to school full time but he didn't really hangout with us he started to keep to himself and he spend a lot more time with Kim they started dating I think. Bella brought some motocross to Jake yesterday and they started hanging out a lot too and I started to hang out a lot more with Quil and Embry.

Few weeks later

Bella and Jake were still fixing the motocross and Embry started to miss school and now he's keeping to himself too and he hangs out more with Sam, Paul and Jared but he still hangout with me from time to time. He cut his hair too. I like his new haircut. I've been feeling kinda weird the past couple of weeks but didn't say anything because it doesn't feel like something normal. I'm in class in AP Calculus when I started to feel weird I got up without saying anything and left the class. I went to the bathroom and started throwing up. I felt hot I stopped vomiting and as I saw the forest outside it felt like it was calling to me. I flushed the toilet and went over to the sink washing my face and my hands. The sun was filtering through the windows of the bathroom and I walked out of the school walking towards the forest. I got in the woods and I felt like something wanted to burst out of me. Some sort of power. Then I started to hear things. "They're back, protector emerged help the shapeshifter to fight help keep the balance"

"Shut up shut up shut up" I say as I cover my ears.

They were repeating the same thing over and over. What are those voices !? Am I going crazy ?!

"Who are you ?" I ask confused as hell. "We are nature, ask the Quileutes they can help you ask them about the protector because it's you" the voice says.

"Who of the Quileutes do I ask ?" I wonder. "Ask Billy Black he will tell you everything" the voices says before stopping. Billy. I ran until I got to Billy's. Jake apparently had mono and so they hadn't wanted me to come around but I don't have a choice. I ran until I got on the porch of Billy's house. I knocked until Billy opened the door.

"Nova you can't be here Jake is still sick" says Billy and I shake my head. "I'm not here for Jake it's you I need to talk to as crazy as it sounds the forest told me to talk to you" I tell him with a shaky breath.

"What do you mean ?" He asks frowning. "I mean I was in the forest minutes ago and there was this voice in my head it told me and I quote 'We are nature, ask the Quileutes they can help you ask them about the protector because it's you' what am I Billy ?! I'm freaking out !?" I say panic lacing my voice.

"Alright come in there's a lot we have to talk about" Billy says before letting me in. I walk in and Billy wheeled himself to the leaving room I followed him arms crossed and completely lost.

"You should sit down Nova it won't be easy to hear" Billy says as we get in the leaving room. "Ok so what is it ?" I ask as I sit down on the couch.

"You heard the story of our tribe do you remember it ?" He ask. "Of course I do I always loved this story" I answer.

"So you remember that our tribe are descendants of wolves and we have one enemy" he says and I nod. "Yeah the cold-ones" I say remembering.

"This story is true Nova all of it the only thing we don't talk about is what you are. The Protector" he adds with a nod. "What is The Protector exactly ?" I ask curious.

"Let me start from the beginning. The world was once populated with only humans until one day vampires were created and so were shapeshifters but someone else too the legend says that one person every 100 years would be born to become The Protector. This person would maintain harmony and balance within the supernatural world. They are to serve as guardians, ensuring that the delicate equilibrium between vampires, shapeshifters and humans is preserved. This could involve preventing conflicts, averting threats to the supernatural community, and safeguarding the innocent from harm. Additionally, they may play a role in mediating disputes and promoting understanding between different factions. Ultimately, their mission would be to ensure the coexistence and peace among all beings" Billy explains.

"Ok so basically it's someone who keeps the peace between all species" I summarize. "Yes" he says with a nod.

"Does the legend say if this person has some sort of powers ?" I ask him. "Yes The Protector have powers they can create force fields to protect themselves and others, or they have heightened senses to detect danger and intervene before harm occurs. They might also possess the ability to manipulate elements like earth or water to maintain balance in nature. Those always depends on the person who becomes The Protector it is the first time I hear of the ability to communicate with nature itself though this tells me you might become a very powerful Protector" Billy tells me and I put my head in my hands completely lost.

"So what does this mean for me Billy..." I ask him looking up. "We will help you learn how to use and control your powers" He declare and I smile.

"Nova ? What are you doing here ? I thought nor Bella or Nova could come so they wouldn't discover" Jacob says looking between his dad and me. "Wait you're one you're a shapeshifter ?!" I say baffled.
